it has so much money it has to spend that it buys equipment it doesnt need just to spend it all
IIRC, somebody here tried to argue that the military budget WASN'T bloated
Even though the budget itself is like a trillion, for some fucking reason
Not surprising.
tfw the military buys tanks that never get used and someone argues that's not too much money
The reason the American military budget is so high is because when they test a 1 million dollar fiberglass panel for an aircraft, and they find a single microscopic bubble, they throw the entire thing away and start over, because they don't want to risk an accident in combat
Source: a friend of mine once had the job of checking for such bubbles
Occupation: Bubble-searcher

I highly doubt they couldnt continue doing such tests with half the budget they already have
Shoerger
It's possible, but I'm no expert on materials science, or aerospace technology
other people have said the military HAS to spend all its budget to get it next year/cycle so while it does spend on things like that, it also buys tanks, jeeps, and all sorts that never get used just to spend it all
We got the big guns nigga <:comfort:592107824826417204>
*That never gets used* That's called reserve equiptment. Play some HoI, you'll learn it's good to have.
Y'know, if the increase in the budget coincided with an exponential increase in people in the military, that'd be a-ok chief
but it doesnt
so
It's a negative connotation to the working class, outlaws... Etc
@Timeward In the span of 17 years, the military budget is expected to more than DOUBLE (at this rate, the US will have a budget of OVER A TRILLION by appoximately 2021)

kek
That one million per windshield really does pale in comparison doesnt it?
>We'll be funding our military with so much money that we could probably buy all of Africa and still have a fuck-ton of money left over
It's a MILLIONTH of the budget
Russia spends only 50 something billion and the media hypes them up as a huge threat lol
nvm, we could by about HALF of Africa
even if you put one of those windshields in every single plane of the military you wouldnt make a fucking dent on the budget
half if you consider nominal gdp as of 2017
'Funny' thing is, there's a 30 K debt 'gifted' to any newborn as the result of all this debt...
1/6 if you consider regular gdp as of 2017
that's still like 5-10 countries ffs
