The USSR wasn’t foolish enough to think the Finns would attack, if at all, without help. They feared the Germans could use Finland as a staging ground and attack from there, with Finnish support, and take Leningrad.

Finland was going to stay neutral the hole war

The soviets pushed the Finns towards the Germans

at that time

Germany was not prepared to attack the USSR

They were to focuced on the west
