I don't see the big problem here
In that first place, it all seems unneeded and complicating things that are simple.
just a couple bros trading personal prop
But-
a couple good ol socialist comrades 😉
If that is just what they want.
I guess... Whatever.
So what I've described is ok under socialism?
If the mode of production is firmly socialistic in wider society.
We're not breaking any rules here
It would be unreasonable to police it and it also wouldn't develop.
Well- Most likely.
I think this should be hammered out prior to the revolution
Of course.
Because I have this sinking suspicion that if it's allowed people will do it
and the personal carrot farmers will have better carrots than the socialist government
and everyone will want more personal IOUs so they can obtain these personal goods
Organic, small farms are better in quality than factory farming.
However, we both know that not all farms can be like that.
But-
I can always buy a house with a bigger lawn, yes?
If I'm only allowed to own one house, then so be it: I'll move, selling my old house for a better house
You wouldn't buy or sell. It would be exchanges and transfers of personal property when we're dealing with houses.
perhaps I'll make a deal with a gentlemen who owns a house with a very large yard: we will trade houses and I'll give him 1000 Snakebucks for his help
In any case, I will aim to have the largest yard possible, so I can plant more carrots. My hypothetical wife and our 8 children will assist me with the maintenance of our family carrot garden and I shall trade Snakebucks for Bob's assistance and the assistance of 20 other eager comrades who want Snakebucks. Then I shall trade the carrots we produce for Snakebucks.
You know, I can dig your society
Yeah, no. If this was to happen. A response would have to be given out. This little blackmarket crushed and those who would conditioned into re-accepting such exploitation should be re-educated.
BLACK MARKET!? 😱
No, no, no! Von, this is a misunderstanding
Exploitation? Surely not
We're merely exchanging personal property
It shares the building blocks of capitalism. Which is already assumed to be exploitative for argument.
@Gimli hello
@Deleted User Hey
But von, you said yourself that it was okay to trade personal property under socialism, yes?
Why the sudden change of heart?
I mean each individual act is allowed. We're allowed to trade houses, we're allowed to plant veggies in out gardens, we're allowed to trade veggies, we're allowed to use IOUs for veggie trading...what's the issue here?
The I.O.U.s may not exactly be allowed. Some of the situations mentioned would have to be regulated.
But the I.O.U.s are personal property
All together, it creates the system which was overthrown.
