Allright, lets go in to details on the subjects here.

What kind of a nation?
What qualifies as citizen?

2019-09-15 00:03:49 UTC

I'd say citizenship qualifies you as a citizen

2019-09-15 00:04:00 UTC

Not that difficult now is it

2019-09-15 00:04:05 UTC

I define a nation as a group of people who share kinship, customs and language and a citizen as anyone who has the corresponding 3

2019-09-15 00:04:20 UTC

Countries have different requirements for citizenry

2019-09-15 00:04:26 UTC
2019-09-15 00:04:51 UTC

Citizenship =/= nationhood

2019-09-15 00:05:00 UTC

@The Desert Fox V so a homogenous nation then?

2019-09-15 00:05:09 UTC

@Deleted User true, but for the purposes of this debate no

2019-09-15 00:05:13 UTC
2019-09-15 00:06:04 UTC

@The Desert Fox V ok I'm going to argue from the present state from the world, not hypotheticals

2019-09-15 00:06:33 UTC

@Deleted User what do you mean?

2019-09-15 00:07:52 UTC

A nation has to care of non-citizens due to inernational relations and global events affect through mediums like trade and warfare

2019-09-15 00:08:19 UTC

Fyi english isnt my first language and its 3am

2019-09-15 00:08:35 UTC

are you Russian

2019-09-15 00:09:39 UTC

@Deleted User so what if other countries don't like us (the hypothetical nation)? As long as we're strong enough to defend ourselves, a bit of dislike is fine.

2019-09-15 00:12:04 UTC

@The Desert Fox V no hypothetical nation, Russia invaded Ukraine, and the eastern front is still active. It impacted trade and geopolitical decisionmaking of more than the directly involved nations of the war. Ukraine's position of military strength can be debated, but support from the around europe has aided their cause.

2019-09-15 00:12:04 UTC

Well done @Deleted User, you just advanced to level 3!

2019-09-15 00:12:34 UTC

Are you Russian?

2019-09-15 00:13:56 UTC

@Deleted User true, but invasion is one thing and discriminating against foreigners within one's borders is another. Obviously we should only invade if we're ready, but who would go to war over a couple foreigners?

2019-09-15 00:14:18 UTC

Ahem

2019-09-15 00:14:19 UTC

Russia

2019-09-15 00:15:44 UTC

@The Desert Fox V so you would agree then that caring of non-citizens should be done in some instances?
Im not sure who you refer to as couple of foreigners, but the Ukrainian war involves millions.

2019-09-15 00:17:31 UTC

@Deleted User if it's done for the betterment of citizens then yes. In the Ukrainian war are we talking from a Russian or Ukrainian perspective?

2019-09-15 00:19:16 UTC

@The Desert Fox V I'm talking of both. Socratean debate so my counter arguments have to be as unbiased as possible.

So I have convinced you that in foreign affairs there are instances where non-citizens have to be paid attention to? That would leave domestic affairs, right?

2019-09-15 00:20:44 UTC

I suppose. Not specifically in foreign affairs or always in foreign affairs, just whenever it's necessary. It should be done as little as possible.

2019-09-15 00:22:05 UTC

Thats a different argument though, lets stick to this and do that some other time.

So, domestic affairs. Gimme a moment to type

2019-09-15 00:31:17 UTC

A nation should care of non-citizens in domestic affairs because:
-Hippocratean oath. Doctors have to treat all patients that require treatment. If a healthcare service is not provided that doesnt include foreign citizens, doctors cannot follow their oaths. Doctors not following their oaths sets a predicament that they do not, in all cases, have to treat patients. A slippery slope in other words.
- Law enforcement. Foreign citizens can commit crimes, that from varying degrees require different enforcement of law. If a penalty for crime X requires incarceration within the country, the prisoner has to be placed within that nations prison system. A law enforcement that "doesn't care" of non-citizens commiting crime is a dysfunctional law enforcement.

@The Desert Fox V

2019-09-15 00:34:01 UTC

@Deleted User 1. Then I suppose the oath needs to be modifed from all people to all citizens. 2. Obviously law enforcement should care about criminals, the statement wasn't meant to contradict that.

2019-09-15 00:34:11 UTC

If someone kills they should be killed

@Deleted User where are you from fuck nut

2019-09-15 00:35:18 UTC

The newly established tribe of south texas

2019-09-15 00:35:29 UTC

Of Dacian decent

2019-09-15 00:37:14 UTC

@The Desert Fox V 1. that would still be in breach of the Hippacratean oath, that in fact makes a doctor a doctor, not just someone who can put bandages on. There are loopholes like you'd have to isolate the country from any foreigners, but that would then bar any diplomacy or embassies.

2. Then youre going to have to specify what you mean "caring"

2019-09-15 00:37:41 UTC

Dictionaries exist

2019-09-15 00:38:01 UTC

You dont mean something other than the meaning of caring when you say caring

2019-09-15 00:38:57 UTC

@Deleted User 1. So they "aren't a doctor" I don't really care about the specifics as long as they ensure the health of thr citizenry. If other countries don't like it, then perhaps they can pay to have their citizens cared for. 2. Caring= giving a shit about their health and well-being.
