I'm pretty sure they're only used by ambassadors

2019-10-08 21:57:24 UTC

As well as embassies

2019-10-08 21:57:45 UTC

1.7% of North Koreans are Christians.

2019-10-08 21:58:27 UTC

Of course they won't allow any Mormons or Jehovah's Witnesses there, but the main churches are represented.

2019-10-08 21:58:44 UTC

In NK the bible is banned

2019-10-08 21:58:48 UTC

It's still a minority and not really the official religion

2019-10-08 21:59:12 UTC

would be cool tho yeah

2019-10-08 21:59:25 UTC

but not in the cringe way South Korea is doing it

2019-10-08 21:59:48 UTC

it should be connected with their tradition, like it was done in Europe

2019-10-08 22:00:14 UTC

@Deleted User That's a myth.

2019-10-08 22:01:47 UTC

Apparently NK produced their own translation of the Bible

2019-10-08 22:03:22 UTC

idk tbh but they clearly didn't flat out ban it

2019-10-08 22:03:47 UTC

They're still commies bro

2019-10-08 22:04:13 UTC

I read that Pyongyang used to be considered "Jerusalem of the East"

2019-10-08 22:04:23 UTC

Bruh

2019-10-08 22:04:24 UTC

Before communism

2019-10-08 22:04:40 UTC

Well

2019-10-08 22:04:42 UTC

Weird

2019-10-08 22:04:49 UTC

Soviet style commies, the ones that fascists fought in WW2

2019-10-08 22:06:30 UTC

They aren't. They do have portraits of Lenin on in some buildings, but they aren't Communists. Their ideology is much more nationalistic and traditionalist and they simply don't probably even know what Nazis and Fascists really are because all their information came from the Soviets and they used it as a word for everyone they don't like.

2019-10-08 22:06:53 UTC

It seems the only reason why they ever discouraged Christianity was because of association with the US

2019-10-08 22:07:44 UTC

And because the US actually has attempted to spy on them using Protestant churches.

2019-10-08 22:09:46 UTC

Man, it's not like the soviets weren't nationalist or traditionalist. but nationalism doesn't make a nation necessarily ok. Especially when their policy is lying to their people and as the state stealing all their fucking properties and make them starve to death

2019-10-08 22:11:54 UTC

They just missed "sending dog to space" on the good communist nation checklist

2019-10-08 22:13:19 UTC

daily reminder the fastest object in the world is a manhole cover

2019-10-08 22:14:03 UTC

North Korea is unepic

2019-10-08 22:16:30 UTC

I'd say DPRK is far more nationalist and traditionalist than the USSR was.

2019-10-08 22:18:02 UTC

North Korean propaganda isn't much worse than propaganda against it, it's just cruder and more old-fashioned.

2019-10-08 22:19:09 UTC

And planned economy is not new to Korea as well.

2019-10-08 22:19:58 UTC

The DPRK funds fascist groups in the US.

2019-10-08 22:22:19 UTC

Nice thing about DPRK is that they keep the totalitarian tradition of building huge structures.

2019-10-08 22:24:13 UTC

They actually build neoclassical buildings mixing that with modern and traditional Korean styles.

2019-10-08 22:24:15 UTC

Ah yes, North Korea is based because they maintain their culture of ensuring their whole populations gets damned to hell with state atheism and churches for diplomats, and le epic brutalist architecture

2019-10-08 22:24:34 UTC

Nothing says traditionalism and cultural preservation like massive disgusting concrete slobs

2019-10-08 22:25:07 UTC

There are traditional motifs in them.

2019-10-08 22:26:02 UTC

As I said, 1.7% of North Koreans are Christians. Those churches aren't just for diplomats.
