I’m usually cautious of using the term unfeasible when using hindsight. We know they are when they’re done, but many things that were considered unfeasible in the past are common now, right? Didn’t someone say there was no reason for everyone to have a computer in their home?
Now I have one in my pocket
Tanks like these are a joke but back in the day it was very much experimental.
reyhan - they had plenty of things they build that we didnt continue cuz unfeasible... the mouse even if built today with some more modern technology still not a good idea, would still have issues with bridging and soft ground... also is a massive target for air attack. As an example of something we built and used the dora and gustov guns... but they needed thousands of troops to operate, on fired like 20 times in the war, and spend the vast majority of their time hiding from air attack
Hell, Tesla’s power-system is the current focus of phone charging. They’re extending safe induction charging distances and the main reason they’re doing it slowly is fear of cooking important bits

But we often don’t run into the issues until they’ve been tried
That’s all I’m saying
im not saying dont build a prototype, im saying once we try to use it in testing we usually find out its trash
or we find out its awesome... but tons of stuff we find out is trash
Gotta did through the trash to find the treasure sometimes
like someone the other day was talking about emp grenades... which the military has been r&d'in for decades now... but still no production models and all the effects we can get from emp grenade we can get using other cheaper easier to produce means
Yea, and I would think the downsides of emp would outweigh the benefits anyway. We use too much tech to want to fry it all in an area
And I would think the controls for it would be very difficult
man portable emp generators (let alone grenades) dont have much effective range... and tactically your side planning and being prepared for an emp and the enemy being suprised is a valuable asset
tho not using emp, and beingable to do signal triangulation to figure out where the enemy are inside a building is also a valuable asset 🙂
emp is very limited range indeed
also. EMP is not just one thing
And it is defeated by a metal enclosure
By a literal metal box
uksio - usually there is some gateway into the box... like a radio antenna as an example
most of the technology we are using while shielded, has some sorta gateway...
might not kill entire system but will kill parts of the system
like an airplane, might not kill the engines control... but will kill radar and radio... so seeing other enemies and organizing a landing turn into interesting events
@Toh May Tou can’t wait for the inevitable LoversLab mods lmao
