I don't see any States first stuff

2019-09-15 23:36:48 UTC

maybe by referenda?

2019-09-15 23:36:49 UTC

they do but you know lawyers; they will ALWAYS try to take it out of context and come up with a reason

2019-09-15 23:37:18 UTC

actually considering how well brexit has gone

2019-09-15 23:37:30 UTC

maybe a referendum is a bad idea

2019-09-15 23:37:45 UTC

The 10th Ammendment clearly declares that every State has the CHOICE of what powers to hand over to the Federal goverment

2019-09-15 23:37:45 UTC

(or should i say is going)

2019-09-15 23:38:22 UTC

and they can revoke any authority that has been given to the Federal Gov at any time

2019-09-15 23:38:57 UTC

currently, State govs are powerless because the Federal gov uses a form of blackmail in regards to taxes

2019-09-15 23:39:51 UTC

if a State doesn't say follow the Federal Education mandates, the Federal gov witholds money for Roads or something else

2019-09-15 23:40:33 UTC

pretty good voice

2019-09-15 23:40:55 UTC

it's a trade-off between one centralized agency handling buisness for all the states or a seperate department each doing the same thing in all 50 states

2019-09-15 23:41:15 UTC

the latter would be burrearcy hell

2019-09-15 23:41:36 UTC

If a state doesn’t X the federal government withholds Y.

Cough.

*1776!*

2019-09-15 23:41:47 UTC

yup

2019-09-15 23:42:11 UTC

Yeah that's why the age for alcohol consumption is 21

2019-09-15 23:42:17 UTC

there's no national age set

2019-09-15 23:42:31 UTC

but the federal government threatened to withhold funding from any state that didn't raise it from 18 to 21

2019-09-15 23:42:33 UTC

so they all did

2019-09-15 23:43:15 UTC

yeah, they have in essence rewritten the rules using economies of scale as justification

2019-09-15 23:43:32 UTC

Rule 1: Save money

2019-09-15 23:43:50 UTC

America First.

2019-09-15 23:43:54 UTC

So they centralized everything rather than having a seperate agency for each state

2019-09-15 23:44:08 UTC

Rule 2: Don't centralize

2019-09-15 23:44:16 UTC

wait.. what about rule 1?

2019-09-15 23:44:41 UTC

"ok, i don't see the harm...."

2019-09-15 23:45:32 UTC

I remember people saying the same thing way back when the Conservatives warned of the nuclear family being destroyed by enabling liberal shit

2019-09-15 23:46:06 UTC

Lesson: The young ALWAYS think they know better... and they always never do...

2019-09-15 23:47:10 UTC

I bet you are secretly smelling your farts to learn about the state of your gut bacteria

2019-09-15 23:47:32 UTC

nope. i care not

2019-09-15 23:47:52 UTC

truly a scientific method

2019-09-15 23:47:54 UTC

@ManAnimal I have to agree with that

2019-09-15 23:48:00 UTC

for science!

2019-09-15 23:48:36 UTC

for the people who are still alive

2019-09-15 23:49:51 UTC

I am suprised no one ever points out that any legal argument against seccesion is completely retarded as the MOMENT a state decides to leave, the Federal Gov HAS no legal standing to even make an argument

2019-09-15 23:50:50 UTC

Yeah but they cannot succeed though. You need 2/3rds ratification by the states to do so
