2019-09-25 11:18:36 UTC

They can’t do it forever.

2019-09-25 11:18:37 UTC

I’m not better then you

2019-09-25 11:18:41 UTC

Eventually they’ll fall.

2019-09-25 11:18:49 UTC

I said it’s stupid to just call regulators lefties

2019-09-25 11:18:50 UTC

Advertisers are already sick of facebooks shit.

2019-09-25 11:18:56 UTC

Because they put in controls over the markets

2019-09-25 11:18:56 UTC

I'm pro regulation

2019-09-25 11:19:02 UTC

They’re hemorrhaging cash.

2019-09-25 11:19:05 UTC

There's nothing intrinsically wrong with buying out a competitor, but that's where the one facet of intervention I do agree with comes in: trust busting.

2019-09-25 11:19:11 UTC

I'm sorry but I think you misread the situation

2019-09-25 11:19:12 UTC

Which regulations are you pro?

2019-09-25 11:19:35 UTC

I'd have to think about

2019-09-25 11:19:41 UTC

There are a ton of issues with corporations right now, with predatory purchasing of competitors, and with unfettered vertical integration

2019-09-25 11:19:50 UTC

Leave Facebook alone. If government regulation doesn’t come in, and the cost to entry stays low, eventually Facebook will go bankrupt.

2019-09-25 11:19:54 UTC

like george soros

2019-09-25 11:20:01 UTC

he got so big and now he can just throw money for political people

2019-09-25 11:20:10 UTC

kinda fucked up

2019-09-25 11:20:14 UTC

You just gotta be patient.

2019-09-25 11:20:18 UTC

Facebook only needs controls on who it sells the data to

2019-09-25 11:20:25 UTC

need another billionare to get bothered

2019-09-25 11:20:32 UTC

Like how banks can’t fund terrorist groups

2019-09-25 11:20:36 UTC

Or money launder

2019-09-25 11:20:44 UTC

There needs to be controls on who you can sell data to

2019-09-25 11:21:01 UTC

Isn't it great that regulations prevented Morrison's from buying out all the major supermarkets in my town and prevent a monopoly. Now we have fantastic competition between all the major brands. <:hypersmugon:544638648721604608>

2019-09-25 11:21:03 UTC

Facebooks user data reflects steep loses. I'm not sure if anyone has seen their quarterly reports over the past few years?

2019-09-25 11:21:30 UTC

Don’t regulate.
Let Facebook do what it wants.
Whatever regulation you put in, you have to put in on *every single possible competitor* to Facebook.
That’s what Facebook wants.
It makes the cost to start a competitor higher.

2019-09-25 11:21:30 UTC

Anyone?

2019-09-25 11:21:36 UTC

I would add to that

2019-09-25 11:21:53 UTC

Correct, @Scale_e.

2019-09-25 11:21:58 UTC

Facebook and other social media groups need to be forced to choose between being publishers or platforms and be regulated accordingly

2019-09-25 11:22:00 UTC

I don’t want my data being sold to the Chinese govt thank you very much

2019-09-25 11:22:03 UTC

facebook is fine if it decides if its a publisher and not a platform. theyve been trying to be both

2019-09-25 11:22:08 UTC

The cost to entry into the social media market is already pretty high

2019-09-25 11:22:25 UTC

I don't like my data being sold to my Gov

2019-09-25 11:22:29 UTC

@Eccles agreed

2019-09-25 11:22:32 UTC

Facebook can comply with regulation. They’re huge.
If you force the small fries to jump through hoops, they’re going to develop different products that don’t have the cost of entry.
And we’re stuck with Facebook.

2019-09-25 11:22:38 UTC

I don't like my data

2019-09-25 11:23:07 UTC

That's right, Scale.

2019-09-25 11:23:18 UTC

Free markets work, bruh.
