My uncle works in the environmental sector, he has studied these things

He has worked on a windmill concept that was rejected

When I addressed the issue of nuclear and I said that I think it might be a solution

He didn't say a word, and I was surprised, because I thought he would argue against it

1-2 years later I know why he didn't

That said, I don't see the issue with continuing to use carbon production if it means we can convert it using capture systems, but we'd have to get California to stop shitting in the streets, and that's asking too much.

Once again, Europe leads in being the cleanest westernized continent in regards to plastic

It's many times cleaner than Asia

Plastic straws cause less overall pollution, due to the manufacturing processes being cleaner. Being cleaner than Asia is like saying your room is cleaner because it doesn't look like a junk yard.

Even if we did everything we could, we would not stop this level of pollution

That said, recycling is the answer to the straws problem.

The west has a "it's my fault" problem right now

And this seriously needs to stop

We're going for less than ideal solutions that cause new problems

And ultimately we're not addressing the elephant in the room
