2019-07-26 18:21:36 UTC

civil forfeitrue law

2019-07-26 18:21:44 UTC

Y E E T

2019-07-26 18:21:47 UTC

I dont know which country were you're from but in mine banks dont just close your account for no reason, they cant under regulatory rules

2019-07-26 18:21:48 UTC

USA, presumably

2019-07-26 18:21:56 UTC

They can in the states, Justice

2019-07-26 18:22:07 UTC

you can't even pay your mortgage anymore using cash or even get cash for coins if you don't have an account at a particular bank

2019-07-26 18:22:13 UTC

Well i dont live in the US

2019-07-26 18:22:18 UTC

not sure they can confiscate the contents without the government

2019-07-26 18:22:20 UTC

that is a rather dangerous precedence to allow

2019-07-26 18:22:29 UTC

pretty sure it's happened in the UK, too

2019-07-26 18:23:20 UTC

if you take the stance that '.. one should just never get into that situation' and don't stand up for the little guy when the bank breaks the rules, the bank will just keep getting worse amd worse

2019-07-26 18:23:28 UTC

until finally your turn comes around

2019-07-26 18:23:56 UTC

UK can freeze your account

2019-07-26 18:24:22 UTC

Friend works in Child Maintenance and they can freeze your account to get you to start paying

2019-07-26 18:24:24 UTC

rules are there for a reason. If they aren't written well enough and someone tries to fuck u with them, fuck them back with their own rules

2019-07-26 18:24:27 UTC

True, i get you. Perhaps I'am just in a better position than most with multiple accounts, domestic and abroad.

2019-07-26 18:24:57 UTC

That's government again, Jack, not sure if the bank can do it unaided

2019-07-26 18:25:18 UTC

Yeah, and part of the REASON the UK can freeze your account is that too many took the , "well i will never have to worry cause i will never be in that situation' attitude

2019-07-26 18:26:06 UTC

by the time tough times come around, those people don't have what it takes to hold the other side to the fire and make them play by the book

2019-07-26 18:26:41 UTC

UK banks cant just freeze your account either. you must trigger their anti money laundering filter.....if you say deposit £9999.99 into an account and immediately transfer it.

2019-07-26 18:26:50 UTC

and once anyone learns they can fuck you and get away with it, they will continue to fuck you

2019-07-26 18:26:56 UTC

and your family too

2019-07-26 18:27:25 UTC

so in other words they can just make up something and label it 'anti money laundering'

2019-07-26 18:27:42 UTC

i.e. Why would ANYONE have 6-12 cash just sitting around?

2019-07-26 18:27:47 UTC

must be nafarious

2019-07-26 18:27:55 UTC

no one ELSE has that kind of spare money

2019-07-26 18:27:56 UTC

etc

2019-07-26 18:28:01 UTC

hence the danger

2019-07-26 18:28:10 UTC

No, its the same anywhere. if you walk into any bank and throw a case filled with cash and say " i want to deposit this please" they are going to ask questions.

2019-07-26 18:28:35 UTC

"it is the same anywhere".... ok, a relativist is see

2019-07-26 18:28:41 UTC

Yeah they can't just fuck with it for no reason

2019-07-26 18:28:41 UTC

2019-07-26 18:28:49 UTC

just cause everyone else jumps off bridge don't make it right

2019-07-26 18:29:01 UTC

and it didn't USED to be like that

2019-07-26 18:29:15 UTC

Freezing your account just allows them to investigate, under UK law you are entitled to compensation for any emotional and financial pain its caused if you are vindicated.

2019-07-26 18:29:27 UTC

oh really.. lol

2019-07-26 18:29:30 UTC

very naive

2019-07-26 18:29:39 UTC

No, its the UK Law

2019-07-26 18:29:57 UTC

as if you would have the capacity to SUE the bank if all your money was accidently frozen

2019-07-26 18:30:01 UTC

sue with what?
