As for VRAM, well, remember those "HD" textures for Skyrim that were 512x512 pixels instead of 256x256, took 3GB more and did absolutely nothing visuals-wise (and when you uninstalled them and loaded a save, your character was forever T-posing and interacting crashed the game for some fucking reason)? I think modern games do basically that
