In the long term * ^
Bangladesh is only mildly better
and the fact Pakistan tells its kids to hate India
They are trying to forge a national narrative to get the ppl on the same page
even though Pakistan are the aggressors
and put an emphasis on infrastructure development to integrate the country with itself
I read their program from last year's elections
@tea_in_space Not really
never mind the fact Pakistan is currently is occupying balochistan which is pro west
It was the British colonial rule which started it
one of the MAJOR points is "build more storage space for merchandise"
so that poorer regions can get some kind of logistical nodes
to serve as connections to the greater whole
like a huge mistake was creating Pakistan but as they say no point in crying over split milk
It wasn't a mistake lmao
It was a good thing
If there was no Pakistan, there WOULD be ethnic cleansings
Separating them into two separate dominions
no way 'round it
The two countries are split on ethic and religious lines
You could argue for maybe a confederal solution
but the Pakis clearly don want it
"Once the lines were established, about 14.5 million people crossed the borders to what they hoped was the relative safety of religious majority. The 1951 Census of Pakistan identified the number of displaced persons in Pakistan at 7,226,600, presumably all Muslims who had entered Pakistan from India."
The Raj was a British creation anyway
it was just a colony
its boundaries did not represent local, historical baoundaries
or ethnic
Exactly
or any other
Hence we have massive issues in the ME today
yes
Brits also pitted the minorities against one another to some extent
As a means to facilitate staying in power
Keep them fighting each other and not us.
ye
s'hard to account for what impact that had long term though
Well that wasn't taken into consideration
Because it was assumed, more troops could be stationed there
The Parsis were very much used by the Brits, yet they are entirely fine and no one minds them.
