Ok can you explain
What do you mean "used to act as a collective"
Because alot of american history has been uuuh "propagandised" into a fantasy
well for example in general whites had collective interests and would vote/act collectively to enforce those interests, that still happens today (just look at how many whites vote republican) but to a far lesser extent
this also goes beyond race too
I would say that varies from person to person
I feel like your definition of collectivism is waaaaaay too broad
well you would say that since you're an individualist @Engineered Eldritch Catgirl
you all are lewdable...
It's just unworkable, like there's no way to get out of a collective because it's against human nature on your definition
...after enough liquor was ingested
From what i can see their voting republicans because the left playing racial identity, i/e the media and the democrats ect.
^
@Ethreen42 That's not collectivism.
yeah it isn't
Like I would define collectivism as identity politics
not "acting as part of a collective"
when we say collectivism we mean forced by big government
collectivism[ kuh-lek-tuh-viz-uh m ]SHOW IPA
EXAMPLES|WORD ORIGIN
noun
the political principle of centralized social and economic control, especially of all means of production.
because that's just difficult to conceptualise
@Jack of Trades scroll up, it was already defined differently
And there's no meaningful way to define individualism
China, communist russia, nazi occupied germany they all did it.
with that definition
@Ethreen42 Then that's a different concept
the only definition of individualism that would work against the collectivist definition would be the most extreme form of anarchism
oh god, can't believe a brony is here @Jack of Trades ohhidar
@Engineered Eldritch Catgirl 😛 How've you been deer?
being a tl;dr
ew
get it xD
Y'all gah
@Muten They're not opposites
The opposite of gov't enforced is NOT gov't enforced
They are opposed to eachother, yes they aren't opposites but they do oppose eachother
Individualism is voluntary, it happens that it is also not gov't enforced
