im not saying all of them, but the right number could potentially be in a position to just make the victory as pyrrhic as possible

2019-09-09 03:01:15 UTC

I get what you mean, and that's in a normal scenario, the ocassional uprising, quell and subvert

2019-09-09 03:01:34 UTC

but im talking about global revolution, the bottom showing no signs of stopping

2019-09-09 03:02:07 UTC

then they lose power and the people elect someone else to lay all the blame on. remember napoleon?

2019-09-09 03:02:07 UTC

even if it's a bandwagon effect, the oligarchs staring down actually losing it all

2019-09-09 03:02:51 UTC

the 'people' will win, for now until we get robots to quell uprisings

2019-09-09 03:02:51 UTC

i do, but what specifically are you referring

2019-09-09 03:03:35 UTC

remember when the french revolution was all about beheading the aristocracy, and getting freedom and democracy by force?

2019-09-09 03:04:07 UTC

yeah

2019-09-09 03:04:15 UTC

until democracy fails (like it always does) and they elect another super tyrant to blame. Napoleon

2019-09-09 03:04:29 UTC

same could be said for Hitler in a way too i guess

2019-09-09 03:04:40 UTC

that's why the founding fathers of US didnt insitute a democracy per se

2019-09-09 03:05:16 UTC

that's right. a republic which restricted the franchise of voters to those who were responsible\

2019-09-09 03:05:44 UTC

land owners

2019-09-09 03:06:12 UTC

then something happened in 1920, and we have this mess

2019-09-09 03:06:49 UTC

not gonna say what happened during that time, but a certain someone who never earned the right to vote, sort of just 'got it'

2019-09-09 03:07:43 UTC

nah nah, it's never just one thing, that's honestly too easy of a solution.

2019-09-09 03:07:51 UTC

is it?

2019-09-09 03:07:55 UTC

IS IT!?

2019-09-09 03:07:56 UTC

it's always a series of small things, operating in tempo

2019-09-09 03:07:57 UTC

yes

2019-09-09 03:08:13 UTC

1913. the fed was created, and the federal income tax system

2019-09-09 03:08:14 UTC

Okay, guess we'll never solve the problem then

2019-09-09 03:08:27 UTC

which in turn shifted the way money flows in the US away from the states

2019-09-09 03:08:39 UTC

it used to go, Citizen - STATE - Federal

2019-09-09 03:08:50 UTC

and the states determined how much money the federal was allowed to have

2019-09-09 03:09:00 UTC

now it's Citizen - FEDERAL - State

2019-09-09 03:09:18 UTC

and the states have to essentially beg for their own money in the form of the federal subsidy

2019-09-09 03:09:36 UTC

I agree

2019-09-09 03:09:47 UTC

Direct Unapportioned taxes, as they are in the Federal Income Tax are Illegal according to the US constitution

2019-09-09 03:09:56 UTC

however, i believe the looming issue lies in unbridled democracy

2019-09-09 03:09:58 UTC

however, it's always been upheld in court

2019-09-09 03:10:15 UTC

of course, those courts were always federal court, so no fucking surprise there

2019-09-09 03:11:06 UTC

It's unbridled democracy, combined with ignorance, propaganda and demegogory

2019-09-09 03:11:34 UTC

federal courts are like the rest of the government... massively overreaching their mandate.

2019-09-09 03:11:34 UTC

the people doing the voting are too stupid to realize they are voting away their own futures, freedoms and self determination

2019-09-09 03:11:58 UTC

we need a net taxpayer votes for congress, and the veterans and soldiers that can meet the male standard vote for the president

2019-09-09 03:12:25 UTC

and the citizens vote for their own state governors i guess

2019-09-09 03:13:24 UTC

that way no one can lobby without losing their rights to being anet taxpayer and thus the stupid law or policy they lobbied can be repealed or remended by the sensible net taxpayers

2019-09-09 03:13:25 UTC

and while I don't believe that we should go back in time with regards to women/people of color/etc being able to vote on those factors, I do think you shouldnt be allowed to vote unless you can pass a basic civics course

2019-09-09 03:13:53 UTC

the ability to vote can be more devestating or rewarding than a gun
