In my view, art/film is supposed to reflect life and what people think SHOULD be. In the 'old days', it was accepted as a given that 'the masculine' and 'the feminine' were complementary roles and thus the more a character embodied the strength of a particular role , the more they had to carry the burden of that role. Each came with strengths and weaknesses and a good drama contrasted the best vs the worst of these trade-offs as well as the value and need for each to cover their particular 'zone'

**EMERGENCY BACKUP BEANIE**

fiction and particularly film in particular form much of the expectations kids have regarding what is justifiable because kids learn behavioural standards via observation

2019-09-09 17:44:04 UTC

But that's rated M for MA

2019-09-09 17:44:07 UTC

@King Canuck the beanie stores his centrist powers

2019-09-09 17:44:09 UTC

they tend to identify and emulate the heroic qualities in real life

2019-09-09 17:44:27 UTC

kids learn in their most crucial educational form from what their parents do; if their parents are vandals, they will be vandals in turn despite still having a human, mortal limited form

2019-09-09 17:44:31 UTC

but the traits depicted anymore aren't heroic in the slightest

2019-09-09 17:44:41 UTC

movies are trash

2019-09-09 17:44:51 UTC

How dare people be motivated by issues more the global corporate interests eh, PureEvilPie?

2019-09-09 17:45:01 UTC

the point when you are using it as background noise just to have sex proves this

2019-09-09 17:45:08 UTC

worse, there is no acceptance of the natural-trade off between the masculine and the feminine

2019-09-09 17:45:08 UTC

or to do anything, really

2019-09-09 17:45:25 UTC

this model is lost pretty much universally

2019-09-09 17:45:27 UTC

I srs have to watch it now I hate yous

2019-09-09 17:45:42 UTC

and it is THOSE expectations that are most important for social cohesion

2019-09-09 17:45:51 UTC

there's no masculine or feminine in current pop culture, there's an attempt at forming the blank slate that can do anything provided it immediately reaches out to it, rather than building up to it or otherwise
