The first two are really just satires. The third film removes all the charm and satire, and takes it self way too seriously and it's to a point where the only thing it shares in common with the first two films is that it's about a man who was turned into a robot
If I wanted to see that I’d watch the Stephen Hawking documentary.
Man, that was a cool scene.
"your move, creep."
But what is it a satire of? Buddy cop movies?
Authoritarian police states.
I'm haven't seen the movie
But I doubt that.
Doesn't look like it from the scene I saw.
So, it's commentary?
Guys?
Did I kill the chat?
Shit.
@Scale_e You mean the UK?

Or the sheria law courts?
AFAIK yes?
AFAIK?
I don't really know all that much about it
what does AFAIK stand for?
Crime had been rising steadily since the 60’s. 1980 was the first time the homicide rate reached double digits per 100k. People were freaking out.
*Robocop* was filmed 7 years after that. Peak crack epidemic hysteria.
The idea “what can we do to stop this” and “but what about muh freedoms” were big issues being discussed.
*Robocop* was yet another film in a long line of films capitalizing on these themes.
Oh.
But you know also general sci-fi, transhumanism etc etc
I hope one day workers walk around with mechsuits.
THey already do
