And making alternative platforms mainstream requires a lot of work that many people can't do
People do look at other websites.
Yet it's done already. @stathelle
If you don't have a free platform, you won't get that nice exemption that covers your ass.
Gab.
4Chan.
Voat.
Gab isn't nearly mainstream
Discord
those sites deserve 230 protection
Then make it mainstream, as I've said.
Push people to it.
Trouble is that the boomers don't actually enforce the law or make laws that are on point. Most of them, really.
discord isn't really a social media persay like twitter I mean
This is basic..
The big things in comms just have upward inertia.
goodnyaght everynyan! rember to sleeps or be sleepy
I use this instead of Fashbook
Especially when they have a lot of fucking undeserved boons.

Night and have pet @Danacrag
What's stopping you from creating a Facebook account with the sole purpose of pushing people to other websites? @stathelle
Nothing.
It's being done already.
@ManAnimal They must be enforced or you start going down the slippery slope of not enforcing your laws, which erodes the entirety of your legal code.
So you either find a happy medium, in which you adjust them properly.
OR YOU FUCKING ENFORCE THE LAWS.
i agree 100%; but that happens when they write conflicting laws that realistically cannot be enforece uniformly
Then those laws must be reformed.
^^
Yep, nothing, however that takes a lot of effort and power. Power and effort that the big media and tech have. They have the resources to keep people on there, and unless you have a lot more moderates who see the need to switch, the vast majority of Americans won't switch over.
exactly
basically... section 230 needs to be reexamined.. on how it shuld be enforced and so on
Then offer a better product. @stathelle
The product you're offering doesn't seem that good if consumers don't want to use it.
Maybe you should try revisiting it..
And get a better product.
my original point is that if you allow the gov the ability to decide when they can tell private companies who and what they can list, in order to enforce the gov would have to examine EVERYOINE's machine at the slightest accusation
