The weaker the State is with more restrictions the better the people will be liberty wise
We need a Minarchist State with a Constitution similar to the US one to ensure maximum liberty without being reduced to Anarchy
I disagree.
Yeah a coincidence. That a small set of colonies created a nation. That that nation became a regional power. That that regional power came out on top of a series of global conflicts. That afterwards it expanded to global hegemony. How many 6s do I have to roll before you start thinking the dice might be loaded?
Name one situation where a powerful state with no restrictions has been freer then a State which is weaker and has restrictions
Not loaded. Simply fortunate.
Isolationism worked for them.
Switzerland. @The Electric Lizard
In comparison to what
Compared to America.
Yeah Ooopsie! Just kinda stumbled into being the greatest power in human history. That darned luck!
Unironically, yes.
Your geography allowed for that.
And your isolationism until that time made it even more likely.
Switzerland is similar to the US and does not contradict my statement because neither has a strong state with no restrictions
Switzerland is a strong state with few restrictions.
It has a constitution
That is a major restriction
Which is quite small.
Which was of course all luck. It's not like the westward expansion covered more ground per year than the Mongol Empire. It's not like we defeated the Spanish to become a regional power. Winning the Rockies (a rather substatial *geographic barrier*) was just sort of happenstance. Knocking a hole through the middle of a continent (Pannama) was just sort of happenstance. Inteveining in two world wars at preciselty the moment it would have the largest impact at the lowest cost was all dumb luck.
Most of that comes from what? ...
Location, location, location.
Dumb, luck.
Then there's the resources under your feet.
Again, luck.
I tip my hat to you weez, from one legend to another
Also Switzerland isn't as free as the US
Not by a long shot
So if you are claiming that it has a strong state you are proving my point
I am reminded here of a chemistry proctor when I was an undergrad. She did not like my solution to a problem (I was in the habit of using matrices over algebra). She said my math was "wrong".
I asked was the answer correct?
Yes.
Is it an odd number question in the text?
Yes.
Is it accurate to two decimal places?
Yes.
Well mam if my math is wrong I am an incredibly good guesser.
@The Electric Lizard Wrong
They are wrong
Swiss anti-racism laws make it illegal to deny any genocide
That is a severe lack of freedom
The US does not have that
In 2007, Turkish politician Dogu Perincek was fined 3,000 Swiss francs after publicly denying the Armenian genocide while staying in Switzerland
