can't automate vertical farming

2019-09-03 17:37:23 UTC

Full ai supervision of everything

2019-09-03 17:37:23 UTC

Farmbots

2019-09-03 17:37:32 UTC

The big cities in Japan are overpopulated. The rest of the country has a population *shortage*.

2019-09-03 17:37:36 UTC

ah, no; AI doesn't work like that

2019-09-03 17:37:40 UTC

Maybe they should've considered building modern stuff

2019-09-03 17:37:45 UTC

And moving industry into the county

2019-09-03 17:37:47 UTC

Like the us does

2019-09-03 17:37:49 UTC

Ye once you get Fusion powered vertical farming sites you probably can afford to automate then too

2019-09-03 17:38:02 UTC

Fusion Power = Fairy Tale

2019-09-03 17:38:14 UTC

Or Japan could just force the NEETS out of the big cities, and make them go be farmers.

2019-09-03 17:38:16 UTC

@Arthur Grayborn that still means the entire land is overpopulated lol

2019-09-03 17:38:30 UTC

It is physically impossible for Japan to farm for most of it's food

2019-09-03 17:38:37 UTC

people who actually want to live in cities are brain damaged

2019-09-03 17:38:39 UTC

^

2019-09-03 17:38:48 UTC

Japan implements 5 year plan

2019-09-03 17:38:53 UTC

People who want to live in cities move there for employment

2019-09-03 17:38:57 UTC

Oh so disappointed nobody jumped to defend fusion power

American farming techniques require about 1-2 acres per person, but that's not the only way to grow food. There are more expensive techniques that allow you to feed ten or more people per acre.

2019-09-03 17:39:09 UTC

yes, but many actually like it

2019-09-03 17:39:13 UTC

>Japan is mostly mountains

2019-09-03 17:39:13 UTC

modern farm techniques can harvest 10 acres per day with one tractor

2019-09-03 17:39:15 UTC

Employment and entertainment

2019-09-03 17:39:16 UTC

not living there just for cash

2019-09-03 17:39:17 UTC

There's few plains.

2019-09-03 17:39:25 UTC

you can't come close to that with vertical farming

2019-09-03 17:39:27 UTC

The only reason we don't use those more land-efficient farming techniques is because they're more expensive. Only reason.

2019-09-03 17:39:34 UTC

American farming techniques are largely automated lol

2019-09-03 17:39:36 UTC

it's only good on a user/user basis

2019-09-03 17:39:37 UTC

Again, Japan doesn't have the space.

2019-09-03 17:39:40 UTC

Ocean farms?

2019-09-03 17:39:40 UTC

What idiot thing do you think of farmers

2019-09-03 17:39:48 UTC

Mmmmm algae

2019-09-03 17:39:51 UTC

A single farmer can do several square leagues

2019-09-03 17:39:54 UTC

Worth of labd

2019-09-03 17:39:56 UTC

10 acres; 1 day ; 1 farmer

2019-09-03 17:40:05 UTC

that IS automation

2019-09-03 17:40:09 UTC

America isn't a tucking subsistence farming country

2019-09-03 17:40:11 UTC

wheat doesn't harvest itself

2019-09-03 17:40:13 UTC

They mechanize everhthibg
