It’s just a shorthand way to invalidate a person by saying, “you’re old and don’t have anything credible to say.” But there is something to learn from people who have had different life experiences than you, and helped build the society that you live in.

Kids are potential people, and the only responsibility society has is to make sure they become people without any increased pressure. So they can make their own decisions without hurdles that may have been placed in childhood

Basically, childhood should be in such a way that when you turn 18 you can scrap it and make entirely new decisions on how you're living your life. You don't have to, you just should be able to. That means nothing irreversible before 18
