Well a tattoo isn’t a removal of flesh. So idk.... it’s not quite... equivalent right

2019-11-22 19:29:29 UTC

I’m just trying to hone your analogy a bit

2019-11-22 19:29:33 UTC

no its actually very reversable, and less painful

2019-11-22 19:29:53 UTC

Hmmm what is excessive pressure

2019-11-22 19:30:08 UTC

but that makes people VERY uncomfrotable to think about

2019-11-22 19:30:33 UTC

Basically, childhood should be in such a way that when you turn 18 you can scrap it and make entirely new decisions on how you're living your life. You don't have to, you just should be able to. That means nothing irreversible before 18

2019-11-22 19:30:48 UTC

See I think that’s a new way of perceiving this stuff

2019-11-22 19:30:54 UTC

And I’m not comfortable with modernity

2019-11-22 19:31:09 UTC

Just scrap your childhood.. and etc. it doesn’t matter blah de blah

2019-11-22 19:31:32 UTC

And I don’t see convincing evidence to suggest it’s a better way of perceiving the world

2019-11-22 19:32:24 UTC

Maybe even the decisions of adults should be guided. Maybe the masses need guidance. Pressure. To some degree.

2019-11-22 19:32:48 UTC

thats not the point of it actually, its not that is not important, its that ritualistic scaring to bring you into the tribe is less useful than instead forming important bonds within the community itself.

2019-11-22 19:32:55 UTC

You don't have to scrap your childhood, just saying you should be able to. As in there shouldn't be anything that happened pre18 that will follow the rest of your life wether you want it to or not

2019-11-22 19:33:44 UTC

Idk i disgareee... for example. Society in America used to be way more centered around Christianity. Going to church as a community etc etc.

2019-11-22 19:34:12 UTC

And whose to say that existence was worse? Objectively

2019-11-22 19:34:30 UTC

We’re talking pre 1950’s America

2019-11-22 19:34:35 UTC

But you are free to ditch religion at any point, you can't turn back a surgery

2019-11-22 19:34:55 UTC

Of course you are free yes but eeehhh see I’m kinda like bruh all this freedom is kinda.. not going so well

2019-11-22 19:34:59 UTC

En masse

2019-11-22 19:35:03 UTC

Christianity wise. and just making an old religious argument here. if god did not want us to have foreskins he would have made us without them. and as we are not jewish we are not offering them to him for a compact long fulfilled

2019-11-22 19:35:21 UTC

In a multi-cultural, liberal democratic structure

2019-11-22 19:35:53 UTC

Shai tan that reason can be inversed by saying it’s a choice he wanted us to have to deal with

2019-11-22 19:35:56 UTC

And history is always worse. Tomorrow is always better, it's been a rising tide. As bad as we think the homeless and poor have it. They have more tech and an easier life than most rich people in the 50's

2019-11-22 19:36:49 UTC

Well for now

2019-11-22 19:36:54 UTC

actually it cant be, because the reason for the removal of foreskins is explicitly given in the old testement. that compast with god was long ago fulfilled with the birth of christ in the christian persepctive.

2019-11-22 19:37:05 UTC

Hmm

2019-11-22 19:37:17 UTC

Is it a catholic thing mainly

2019-11-22 19:37:21 UTC

It's symbolic of child sacrifice

2019-11-22 19:37:31 UTC

I see

2019-11-22 19:37:44 UTC

It’s like making a lifelong commitment from the start

2019-11-22 19:37:47 UTC

Interesting

2019-11-22 19:38:07 UTC

in the west its more modenr roots came from the antimastermation revival of the quakers and the kellogs

2019-11-22 19:38:19 UTC

Yeah, it's like saying "this is what you are, you don't have a say"

2019-11-22 19:38:33 UTC

I kinda like that bahaha but maybe I’m crazy dawg

2019-11-22 19:38:57 UTC

BOOM your in bitch no getting out mwahahahaha

2019-11-22 19:39:04 UTC

2019-11-22 19:39:17 UTC

If the kid doesn't have a religion that requires it. He'll grow up to have ALLOT of questions for you

2019-11-22 19:39:22 UTC

would you accept the religous head binding of the african continent? or the ceremonial cutting of the middle east?

2019-11-22 19:39:44 UTC

I’m not quite sure what you mean by that

2019-11-22 19:39:50 UTC

Oh you mean

2019-11-22 19:39:53 UTC

Those practices
