labours policy is remain vs remain

2019-11-21 15:31:59 UTC

Stop thinking the world is so binary.

2019-11-21 15:32:19 UTC

What's the third option?
Anarchism? Fascism?

2019-11-21 15:32:19 UTC

Binary thinkers cannot be pragmatic.

2019-11-21 15:32:26 UTC

Fascism @ZX

2019-11-21 15:33:00 UTC

Hm

2019-11-21 15:33:32 UTC

fascism is dead in britain

2019-11-21 15:33:35 UTC

I somewhat regret pasting parts of the doctrine of fascism here... it seems to have had the opposite effect I was going for 😛

2019-11-21 15:33:54 UTC

only left wing fascism exists

2019-11-21 15:34:06 UTC

Under the name of "Fascism" it's dead.

2019-11-21 15:34:10 UTC

Fascism is an inherently bad idea because it pits the interests of the state against the interests of the people

2019-11-21 15:34:17 UTC

The concept though? Alive and well.

2019-11-21 15:34:28 UTC

> because it pits the interests of the state against the interests of the people
False.

2019-11-21 15:34:35 UTC

Explain how it does that?

2019-11-21 15:34:59 UTC

are there any fascists in history that did not deep dive into becoming a socialist?

2019-11-21 15:35:11 UTC

Mosley

2019-11-21 15:35:27 UTC

he started as a socialist no?

2019-11-21 15:36:07 UTC

Then moved towards Syndiclism

2019-11-21 15:36:12 UTC

Which I don't really consider to be socialism.

2019-11-21 15:36:14 UTC

It should be self evident in how fascism simultaneously claims to have an active state (read, the state as a moral actor) and also has one of its benefits being that it can switch whether it allows for a free market or controls the market depending on what is best for the state

2019-11-21 15:36:29 UTC

By the state, they mean the moral actor, the governing body

2019-11-21 15:36:33 UTC

And why is that a bad thing? @ZX

2019-11-21 15:37:26 UTC

By the governing body they mean the one-party leadership that makes everything centered around the war effort in order to compete with other nations militarily.

2019-11-21 15:37:44 UTC

In the instances when they were at war, sure.

2019-11-21 15:37:48 UTC

Fascism is based on the idea that everything must be within the state; nothing outside or against it.

2019-11-21 15:37:51 UTC

But that's simply a wartime economy.

2019-11-21 15:38:00 UTC

Any ideology can and does have that.

2019-11-21 15:38:14 UTC

Dude, the fascist states of Europe literally started World War II

2019-11-21 15:38:24 UTC

And the ones after it?

2019-11-21 15:38:29 UTC

No second world war then?

2019-11-21 15:38:30 UTC

Which ones?

2019-11-21 15:38:31 UTC

Nor a third?

2019-11-21 15:38:43 UTC

Portugal, Spain, Greece

2019-11-21 15:38:46 UTC

Which states today are fascist?

2019-11-21 15:38:58 UTC

China to an extent could be considered Fascist

2019-11-21 15:39:03 UTC

Really, Portugal, Spain, and Greece are fascist?

2019-11-21 15:39:07 UTC

Were

2019-11-21 15:39:19 UTC

There was one in South America as well

2019-11-21 15:39:23 UTC

Chile was it?

2019-11-21 15:39:45 UTC

And you're citing Ching Chong? The most aggressive country in SE Asia that is currently seeing just how far it can push before someone pushes back?

2019-11-21 15:40:09 UTC

lol... some things never change "In 1926, the Labour-held seat of Smethwick fell vacant, and Mosley returned to Parliament after winning the resulting by-election on 21 December. Mosley felt the campaign was dominated by Conservative attacks on him for being too rich, including claims that he was covering up his wealth."
