doesn't seem like a troll when someone can write 3 hours straight

big it, small it

worshipping an idol is much better than being a beast-like atheist
the spirit of devotion is good for a person.
if they miss the goal, at least they are headed in the right direction.
but really nobody worships idols. the idol is meant to represent something intangible.
something to aid in focus and reminding the person of something that is otherwise invisible.
"out of sight, out of mind"
If you burn the American Flag, it is bad not because the Flag equals America, but it represents America.
Similarly, if somebody took Crucifix and put it on the ground and stepped on it, urinated on it, defecated on it, it would be offensive to most Christians. Not because they worship the Cross, but because the Cross reminds them of Jesus.

There's only one God, but just as there are many peoples, in various stages of development, there are just as many perspectives on that one God. All of those perspectives are useful to people on their way from ignorance to knowledge.

India first theorized the atom, invented zero, invented negative numbers, algebra, open surgery with instruments, zinc refinement, rust-proof iron, trigonometry, first sea dock, oldest written language, chess, pythagorean theorem (budhayana)

so i don't want to hear anymore "look how crappy india is, their religion is stupid" when the high tech we take for granted every day, including the very practice of religion, originates in ancient India.

2018-09-09 10:54:50 UTC

look at any piece of Adobe software, and you will run out of fingers and toes counting the Indian software programmers on the highest tech that the planet has.

2018-09-09 10:56:28 UTC

That said, I think the West is the Best, although there's a whole bunch of ignorant people who don't know the history and potential of Man.

2018-09-09 12:17:22 UTC

Agreed, especially with the different perspectives on god

2018-09-09 12:22:19 UTC

I also agree that looking into and following any spiritual perspective on god is a lot better than being an atheist, because at least then they’re moving in the right direction

2018-09-10 13:07:24 UTC

@Szayel's Pooppion To have many 'perspectives' on God is to worship other gods. The Lord has made it clear on who He is and what He has done. If you gain a different perspective, you may end up looking at Zeus, or Ra, or Vishnu.

In addition, Jesus has said, "Whoever has ears, let them hear.
"
Matthew 11:15 NIV. We can speak the Word but it is not up to us to force it. The Holy Spirit would be the one to do that if the person so chooses to hear.

2018-09-10 16:05:39 UTC

there's only one God. it's not just a commandment, it's just a fact.

2018-09-10 16:06:10 UTC

I can agree with that.

2018-09-10 16:06:39 UTC

if you believe in many different Gods, or that YHVH is different than some other god, then those are called delusions

2018-09-10 16:08:04 UTC

There are people with blind faith in the bible who don't know God in the least bit.

2018-09-10 16:15:50 UTC

Creation and spirit, life and consciousness are all phenomenons, very difficult to put into a few words. God would probably be the hardest to put into words, and even if it were possible, who would understand?

2018-09-10 16:16:50 UTC

it's not really possible for the observer to observe the object of observation while observing the observer's own mind.

2018-09-10 16:17:19 UTC

attention seems to be generally one-pointed, aside from muscle memory sequences.

2018-09-10 16:59:55 UTC

I don’t see it as believing in many gods, it’s one god as he said

2018-09-10 17:00:38 UTC

@J_G_ also absolutely right with ppl having blind faith in the Bible. They can’t see anything else

2018-09-10 17:01:38 UTC

if the first religions appeared via revelation to ancient people, why would the God change to a "real" one later?

2018-09-10 17:02:02 UTC

God is outside of the constraints of time.

2018-09-10 17:03:13 UTC

I do get concerned when a religion says you cant get in unless you pay, or if you leave that religion you get your head chopped.

2018-09-10 17:03:58 UTC

the formalities of joining a religion are exactly why god said "ignore all religions and come directly to me"

2018-09-10 17:04:40 UTC

Really good point

2018-09-10 17:04:58 UTC

That was kind of why I had my doubts in the past on becoming a Christian

2018-09-10 17:05:36 UTC

right, like " how do you know you are "really" a Christian "

2018-09-10 17:05:39 UTC

I just thought why would a person who knows god have to have a formality in their faith?

2018-09-10 17:05:53 UTC

it's always gonna be some human being who is going to look you up and down and decide.

2018-09-10 17:06:13 UTC

i don't worship human beings, my body, or my ego.

2018-09-10 17:06:39 UTC

although Jesse is my Guru at this time.

2018-09-10 17:06:53 UTC

Same hahah

2018-09-10 17:06:53 UTC

Then why have different perspectives?

2018-09-10 17:07:07 UTC

They have different perspectives bc it’s different cultures

2018-09-10 17:07:19 UTC

Different perspectives is what created different religions in the first place.

2018-09-10 17:07:24 UTC

A lot of times, they follow very similar values

2018-09-10 17:07:26 UTC

the perspectives on God are lacking in the main religions.

2018-09-10 17:07:46 UTC

when you really love God, you will want to know all his stories

2018-09-10 17:07:53 UTC

I just found that Christianity suited me
