worshipping an idol is much better than being a beast-like atheist
the spirit of devotion is good for a person.
if they miss the goal, at least they are headed in the right direction.
but really nobody worships idols. the idol is meant to represent something intangible.

There's only one God, but just as there are many peoples, in various stages of development, there are just as many perspectives on that one God. All of those perspectives are useful to people on their way from ignorance to knowledge.

India first theorized the atom, invented zero, invented negative numbers, algebra, open surgery with instruments, zinc refinement, rust-proof iron, trigonometry, first sea dock, oldest written language, chess, pythagorean theorem (budhayana)

so i don't want to hear anymore "look how crappy india is, their religion is stupid" when the high tech we take for granted every day, including the very practice of religion, originates in ancient India.

look at any piece of Adobe software, and you will run out of fingers and toes counting the Indian software programmers on the highest tech that the planet has.

That said, I think the West is the Best, although there's a whole bunch of ignorant people who don't know the history and potential of Man.

@Szayel's Pooppion To have many 'perspectives' on God is to worship other gods. The Lord has made it clear on who He is and what He has done. If you gain a different perspective, you may end up looking at Zeus, or Ra, or Vishnu.

In addition, Jesus has said, "Whoever has ears, let them hear.

if the first religions appeared via revelation to ancient people, why would the God change to a "real" one later?

God is outside of the constraints of time.

I do get concerned when a religion says you cant get in unless you pay, or if you leave that religion you get your head chopped.

the formalities of joining a religion are exactly why god said "ignore all religions and come directly to me"
