But is learning and acquiring knowledge worship?

2018-09-13 18:08:23 UTC

If you are learning and acquiring knowledge, it is a gift from God.

2018-09-13 18:08:35 UTC

Right, that’s what I think too then

2018-09-13 18:08:53 UTC

Because it’s no threat to your faith anyway

2018-09-13 18:08:54 UTC

Only according to His statutes and commands.

2018-09-13 18:09:33 UTC

well i need to step in and say that you can't worship a religion, but a religion is a set of beliefs, and a person is 'religious' if they live according to them.

2018-09-13 18:09:44 UTC

Right

2018-09-13 18:09:54 UTC

However knowledge is meanless

2018-09-13 18:10:09 UTC

Sorry if I didn’t word it right then <:GWpinkuNotLikeNico:392308498282840065>

2018-09-13 18:10:30 UTC

Knowledge and experience is good

2018-09-13 18:10:40 UTC

There should be a balance of everything

2018-09-13 18:10:48 UTC

@J_G_ That is not what I am saying. If I worship Terra and more than one collectively do so and claim her to be my god, it creates a religion.

2018-09-13 18:11:24 UTC

That's worshipping the creation rather than the creator.

2018-09-13 18:11:36 UTC

or woshipping the creature rather

2018-09-13 18:11:45 UTC

that's idol worship.

2018-09-13 18:12:29 UTC

a bunch of people worship idols all day long in the form of sex, lies, and video games

2018-09-13 18:13:17 UTC

God is pure consciousness, that's why we are made in his image, because we also have that breath of life

2018-09-13 18:13:57 UTC

most of us have a limited consciousness though. sometimes it is centered around who has the biggest butt or the biggest house.

2018-09-13 18:14:27 UTC

or the cobwebs in their pocketbook

2018-09-13 18:15:08 UTC

That’s right 🐛

2018-09-13 18:15:16 UTC

but God is infinite in scale, and if we look to him, he will reveal what we need when we need it

2018-09-13 18:15:43 UTC

Religions are the guide to the destination, but not the destination

2018-09-13 18:16:01 UTC

The map is not the territory.

2018-09-13 18:16:18 UTC

<:GWchiakiKannaWave:369468313157369858>

2018-09-13 18:16:44 UTC

Religion is a great map, but careful cause there are snakes in the grass who will use the scriptures.

2018-09-13 18:17:34 UTC

also, I am not a doctor so take my "spiritual ideas" with a grain of salt

2018-09-13 18:17:58 UTC

Even Jesse says we should doubt him too.

2018-09-13 18:18:05 UTC

(if i recall correctly)

2018-09-13 18:18:27 UTC

reminds me of what Jesse said, the people who are Christian, cite the scriptures but their life hasn’t changed & it’s the same old situations. But feeling as though them having a church, knowing the Bible through and through makes them feel as though they have a safety net

2018-09-13 18:18:39 UTC

Yup he does

2018-09-13 18:18:43 UTC

Jesse says "all in the name of Jesus"

2018-09-13 18:19:28 UTC

I listen to Jesse cause he's a better copy of Christ than I am.

2018-09-13 18:19:37 UTC

Aww lol

2018-09-13 18:19:41 UTC

I like that he says that bc

2018-09-13 18:19:49 UTC

Most ppl find a guru and follow them completely

2018-09-13 18:20:06 UTC

While they may be a good influence, it takes away the persons own growth in a sense

2018-09-13 18:20:35 UTC

You have to see it for yourself first, and then look to others like your thoughts and ideas are similar to theirs, so you admire them

2018-09-13 18:20:45 UTC

many times, we don't know how to grow so we could just as soon grow bad as grow good

2018-09-13 18:21:05 UTC

So that’s where I’m at with Jesse. It just feels that there is so much I agree with him on, and go from there

2018-09-13 18:21:25 UTC

Just the lesson that "all thoughts are a lie" is enough to go the right way

2018-09-13 18:21:44 UTC

🙏🏻
