Delivery terms stayed the same
And alot of them are German suppliers
The only thing they couldn't guarantee was customs tarrifs
Because that depends on what the UK levvies
And finally, we are still fucking swamped in orders, if anything that increased over the past year.
The UK will tit-for-tat in tariffs
I'm personally working on 6-7 projects
More if you count what I'm supporting
And about half are Japanese companies moving production to the UK out of China
Not sure why they're not moving it to Vietnam
IE, the *new* China.
So yeah, the financial sector might be having a heart attack at the slightly lower than 10 year average growth and dip into negatives.
But the engineering sector is doing absolutely fine
Hence why I don't fear brexit at all
Nathan
Automation is cheaper than people
Doesn't matter where you go
Really? Even for cheap tat?
Yes
You can buy for example
A CNC machine (a good one) and a robot cell
That will act as the CNC machinist
For £2 per hour
Funny scrollback
Beat that
Damn
And it will. Work 24/7
Make very few mistakes
And not complain
Companies come to places like the UK because we good engineers
So they place their cells near the good engineers so the support is there
Maybe some of us just care more about independence than a few years gdp. A purchase if you will.
Funny fact though. Even thought automation is replacing people, we are a servuce based economy
So we are having a net gain
I'll be back later to see if more heads explode
Since we arnt taking many jobs from UK employees
Mainly cheap labour countries like china
Surely, those engineers will work for less abroad and will still make generally the same product since they're all using Fusion 360 and CNC to make the parts?
Not for £2 per hour including their machine
