Nevertheless, even were mass immigration to end overnight, the population would barely top out, it wouldn't suddenly collapse
It would take a generation to fall 10%
Hello I wanted to ask a question about what is going on in the UK. If the parliament is stopping the UK from leaving, and thus no longer following the what the people want and it is the people that give them the power in the first place why does anyone listen to them? I mean if parliament is now going against the people it has lost its purpose and should be discarded for not lawfully full filling the wishes of the people at least those who are preventing brexit.
They have the guns, and they speak for ~50% of the public so think they can get away with it
do they have the guns? and 48% is not the same as 50% or do they not know maths lol
48%/50%/52% doesn't matter the numbers.
WHen I say "they have the guns", I mean they have the monopoly on force, they have control of the military, the police, the judiciary, all parts of government and the civil service, the schools, the universities, and the hospitals
And the media
You can't simply "discard" parliament, it won't allow itself to be discarded - they are actually refusing to allow a general election to happen at the moment as they know it will see europhiles booted from office in sufficient numbers to undermine their stranglehold
And no, an insurgency isn't going to work
My suggestion would be to sit tight for now
oh ok sounds like whom ever divided up the government made some mistakes as parliament seems to have way too much power over the government itself
Not really, it's growing pains
I mean if they have that much power does the queen even matter
Biggest problem was a flawed bill put through by hipsters about 10 years ago to fix the length of the parliament and make it difficult to call an election outside the fixed parliament length without consensus
Queen doesn't matter, she's a diplomat and a tourism interest
Queen hasn't mattered ever
The UK royalty haven't played a direct role in governance here for hundreds of years
The current queen has set the precedent of not being involved -at all-
Some of it had to do with the fact the Royal Family were predominantly of German origin, so they went very quiet at the outset of the World Wars
It's what really put them in their box
right but they seem to have some power I mean setting aside parliament of a time longer than usual seemed to be something the queen had to agree to
The queen has to rubber-stamp everything, that's what "set the precedent of not being involved at all" means
Why would the queen want to take sides, cause a constitutional crisis, and sign the death-warrant of the royal family forever?
@Eccles You think that parliament doesn't want GE, but the French Europe minister (whatever that is) said that only a general election or second referendum could be reasons for further etensions on brexit <:pepelaugh:544857300179877898>
If France goes through with it, watch remainers scramble.
I don't know what will happen, Xav, but a second referendum would be the end of brexit and democracy here
De gaulle part 2: Baguette boogaloo?
The French didn't want us to join in the first olace
Would be fitting for them to "Kick us out"
So who can oppose parliament then?
Overrule them?
yes
Technically the queen can, but won't
The Supreme Court can, but they can only offer judgement on a case, and that case has to be brought by someone
The Supreme Court is also partisan, remain, and globalist in nature
So you won't get any help there
And that's it
Parliament is meant to be the representatives of the people
