But dude that is a very easy fallacy

2019-07-25 09:46:46 UTC

Lol so you're right no matter what

2019-07-25 09:47:17 UTC

Even if all evidence disproves you then that evidence is false and part of a universal conspiracy

2019-07-25 09:47:28 UTC

The eternal skeptic can never be wrong

2019-07-25 09:48:00 UTC

But what is unfalsifiable cannot be trusted scientifically

2019-07-25 13:59:26 UTC

Hey, I used to be apart of a debate server that recently got banned and there were a couple of socialist on there that changed my perspective a little and now I'm just here because I found them interesting. (This is coming from a non-ironic libertarian)

2019-07-25 14:36:14 UTC

@TERRIFIED OF YOU What attracted you to libertarianism?

2019-07-25 14:37:05 UTC

I know many libertarians who, since they were more interested in the freedom part than in the part about protecting private property, quickly became anarchist communists

2019-07-25 14:37:24 UTC

The others eventually became fascists or neocons of course

2019-07-25 14:38:13 UTC

Well, I'm a bit unconventional. I'm the nationalist type of libertarian, so I'm more likely to become a fascist than a anarchist. But that's a long road from where I currently am

2019-07-25 14:38:45 UTC

Are you more interested in individual freedom or maintaining private property?

2019-07-25 14:39:22 UTC

And I mean material freedom too, not just freedom of choice

2019-07-25 14:40:58 UTC

Well, I'm more a libertarian because I believe it's the more pragmatic approach. I don't care about maintaining anyone's liberty if it means that it would make society more effective. For example, I could see myself being a supporter of criminals who've committed certain crimes being worked to death in camps instead of being put on the death penalty.

2019-07-25 14:41:27 UTC

Just a note, I don't currently support putting criminals in interment camps, I just could see myself being convinced to that

2019-07-25 14:42:24 UTC

Well yes that would seem the most logical approach when social reinsertion is impossible

2019-07-25 14:42:54 UTC

Executions cost money while labour camps produce energy and wealth

2019-07-25 14:43:23 UTC

Yeah, but it would have to be undeniable that they committed the crime. I would rather have 20 guilty men go free than 1 innocent man work a camp to death

2019-07-25 14:43:35 UTC

Idk about working to death

2019-07-25 14:43:48 UTC

But a more lenient labour camp to give them a form of life

2019-07-25 14:44:18 UTC

And maybe help them socially in view of a potential future reinsertion

2019-07-25 14:44:37 UTC

There should be degrees of the camps. Like I have no mercy for child rapist, terrorist, and psychotic serial killers. But

2019-07-25 14:44:40 UTC

Working with other people can help

2019-07-25 14:45:00 UTC

Honestly, this doesn't sound like a bad idea

2019-07-25 14:45:03 UTC

Now that I think about it

2019-07-25 14:45:07 UTC

As long as they are made sure to pose no threat to other members

2019-07-25 14:45:45 UTC

I wonder how an autoregulated labour camp (by prisoners) would work out

2019-07-25 14:46:03 UTC

There should be "normal" camps and "death" camps. And i'd also support lengthy psychological help using tax payers money (because I'm not libertarian on everything)

2019-07-25 14:46:18 UTC

autoregulated?

2019-07-25 14:46:37 UTC

While they are surrounded by surveillance

2019-07-25 14:46:45 UTC

Prisoners can collectively organize camp life

2019-07-25 14:47:02 UTC

So there are some ground rules, but everything else is run by the prisoners?

2019-07-25 14:47:17 UTC

Like the obvious, no killing, stealing, etc..

2019-07-25 14:47:24 UTC

Brb I have to wash the dishes because it's been a while

2019-07-25 14:47:27 UTC

Lol, alright

2019-07-25 14:58:46 UTC

Not even that

2019-07-25 14:59:22 UTC

I'm thinking of this as an experiment to see whether even criminals can be inserted in a voluntary/anarchist society

2019-07-25 14:59:31 UTC

So I imagine sth like an escapable ghetto

2019-07-25 14:59:47 UTC

The prisoners agree on everything inside

2019-07-25 15:00:09 UTC

Now let's see if it devolves into a military dictatorship or dystopian egoistic anarchy

2019-07-25 15:02:06 UTC

Oh, well I've never undertsood anarchism. From my understanding we are just supposed to rely on our neighbors to not do certain things like steal or what not, and if they do any unacceptable things than the group is going to punish that individual for doing something wrong.

But I don't like that idea as it means that if I'm in the wrong group, then there may be a criminal syndicate that extorts me and my neighbors for supplies/money/etc..

2019-07-25 15:04:41 UTC

I'm not an anarchist and I can see the easy failures of such a system too
