2017-07-07 21:52:13 UTC

But yeah highly recommend that debate, or shorter videos on the sidebar if you don't have time

2017-07-07 21:52:25 UTC

can you cite him though?

2017-07-07 21:52:43 UTC

I'd highly argue against capitalism being viewed as the free market

2017-07-07 21:52:47 UTC

He's said many times that the system we have now is not actually capitalism

2017-07-07 21:52:54 UTC

you'd be wrong, sorry

2017-07-07 21:52:55 UTC

well then what is it?

2017-07-07 21:53:00 UTC

what did feudalism get replaced by?

2017-07-07 21:53:02 UTC

Dude I don't write it down

2017-07-07 21:53:13 UTC

Capitalism isn't the same as it was in the 20's

2017-07-07 21:53:21 UTC

the 20s?

2017-07-07 21:53:25 UTC

The states influence rose over the years

2017-07-07 21:53:29 UTC

1920

2017-07-07 21:53:55 UTC

1920?

2017-07-07 21:54:10 UTC

Yes, the decade of the 1920s

2017-07-07 21:54:13 UTC

what is wrong?

2017-07-07 21:54:22 UTC

what does it have to do with anyithng?

2017-07-07 21:54:43 UTC

Way more capitalistic than what we have now

2017-07-07 21:54:51 UTC

closer to actual capitalism

2017-07-07 21:55:01 UTC

but then what do we have now?

2017-07-07 21:55:05 UTC

corporatism

2017-07-07 21:55:18 UTC

I don't understand this notion that capitalism is not a mode of production

2017-07-07 21:55:21 UTC

state involvement in things as welfare and healthcare

2017-07-07 21:55:46 UTC

It's not fair capitalism if you have top compete with the state

2017-07-07 21:55:46 UTC

why not just say livertarianism instead of capitalism?

2017-07-07 21:56:07 UTC

if you wanna say free market

2017-07-07 21:56:11 UTC

libertarianism also has the social freedom, capitalism doesn't say much about homosexuality and such

2017-07-07 21:57:32 UTC

the only way I see that you can put capitalism into some historical perspective is to call it a mode of production, a social relation of production. This was exactly what changed when we went from feudalism to capitalism in the american and french revolutions

2017-07-07 21:57:56 UTC

and it was what changed in the anarchist revolutions

2017-07-07 21:58:07 UTC

and it was what changed when people revolted against slave society

2017-07-07 21:58:30 UTC

I don't see another way to properly put capitalism into it's place in history

2017-07-07 21:59:00 UTC

Well shame for you then

2017-07-07 21:59:19 UTC

Still very much recommend that debate I linked, a fair debate with two competent sides

2017-07-07 21:59:35 UTC

who are the sides?

2017-07-07 21:59:43 UTC

I'm not gonna watch it sorry, or atleast not tonight
