@Builderelf They clearly hardly do anything today.
they protect the union members in the expense of everyone else
but if EVERYONE was a union member (or vitrually everyone)...
le gasp
but anyway
most school teachers are such garbage, and they won't ever be touched by anyone unless they go as far as raping someone
because UNION PROTECTION
@Builderelf Now you are thinking like a trotskyist, because the system dosen't work unless everybody magically agree's to it.
i rather have inefficient people fired than secured by a mafia
They are useless today because of the fact that people don't believe in them anymore. People see that the unions got us in the States 8hr work week and other worker compensations, and dont see unions as necessary anymore. Plus, people see them as dangerous. That's why unions are so weak now, but they can still return to their old glory, and history has proven their effectiveness and potential power.
Overall, I see them having a *lot* of potential.
That's why I advocate for them.
also, I was kinda joking about everyone joining a union, I don't believe thats realistic. That was a meme, but still, very trotsky-like, you are correct.
@Builderelf No they didn't many, many jobs still have prople work 12hr+, infact some people in my family do, just with benefits provided to them by the company, not the union.
I'm sorry to hear that. But I still think that having a stronger union to negiotate for the workers could lower the work week.
@Blueberries the government is mafia
@Builderelf Hey, I ain't complaining about it since we get a shit ton of money from it.
Also, welfare capitalism (the idea that the business owners should give you benefits not the unions) was mostly implemented after WW1 when unions were really scary.
treu @RelativeProfit#8030
true*
They were a stopgag measure to appease the workers.
The thing is that, unions will probably never get stronger, not in the sense that you would prefer.
@GohanLSSJ2 Who is they?
A man can dream.
@Builderelf Sure, but maybe you shoulden't have too unrealistic dreams.
Eh, I think it's possible. I'm doing my part for sure, I myself founded a socialist club at my school, and I have some good turnouts. I'm even converting some people to Anarchism!
So I don't think it's too idealistic.
Albeit, difficult.
@Builderelf Physically, sure, realistically? Eh.....not really.
Maybe. But a man can try.
@Deleted User it is
Either way, if unions *do* reclaim their old glory, I think it's quite realistic to say that they can organize society properly.
I sure would like to see you try.
But getting to that point is arguebly unrealistic, I could agree.
Anyway, ima go play some fortnite
but earth is full of doublethinkers who don't realize it
its PUBG for the people!
Very well then.
Earth is flat
your brain is flat
