At first it seemed like the YPG could hold against turkey for seemingly years, but then the lines collapsed, and the US stopped supporting them, so they are now being destroyed extremely fast, the YPG held out for less than 4 months against turkey during operation olive branch.

I bet the exact same thing will happen with rojava, and it will give assad the opportunity to reclaim most of the land he lost.
