If the ratel is located it can easily be taken out by an RPG
And yes the unimog is a bosvark
what are the SADF using for there logis?
The kwêvoël
@Kooijpolloi any knowledge on when the change of uniform cut took place? Notice pointed front pockets vs straight rectangle pockets.
Samil 50 and 100
Both armoured and soft skin versions
i was about to say having an armored logi would be a neat game mechanic.
if not lightly armored
Top two are the armoured samil 100 kwevoel
Bottom is the samil 50? Soft skin
Samil 100 and samil 50 are the same truck I believe just the 100 has two extra wheels
Or more if they're double
Fapla used the btr-152 early on but quickly switched to the btr-60 after Op Savannah IIRC.
Captured FAPLA vehicles during Op Protea? BRDM-2, PT-76, T-34'85 and a GAZ 66? Only one of those vehicles is currently in SQUAD
Thank you for the additions to my Bush Wars folder
You're welcome.
Got plenty, plenty more
Hows this one? A really weird looking vehicle. Can't remember its name.
Awesome stuff, thank you!
Maybe Dana could ID that vehicle?
Possibly
Would be fun to have the jakkals in at some point. Small with a big 50 on it.
Seen one with dual 50's too
Interesting how they used the orange square on the lid to avoid friendly fire from above. Troops had orange squares inside their boshoeds too. Turn it inside out and you're identifiable from above. No fancy strobes like the US has today. Though my boshoed doesn't have an orange square...
Looks like that. It's apparently called dayglo
what would the marksman weapon be for SADF?
Don't think there were marksmen to my knowledge.
They were all marksmen by default
So, the R4
This Ratel is able to detect enemy artillery barrages and pinpoint where they fired from I believe. Which allowed the SADF to fire counter barrages.
I'm assuming all of the above pictures are from SA and not Rhodesia, right? Just for folder sorting
Yes
