And of course no offense is intended sir

2018-01-26 00:11:51 UTC

That's a given lol

2018-01-26 00:12:24 UTC

I'm not troubled at all, we shared a ride coming back from Cville. 😉

2018-01-26 00:12:36 UTC

Haha indeed

2018-01-26 00:13:58 UTC

In theory though, couldn't you impart wisdom unto your brothers where the rubber hits the road? (Given everyone showed the dedication required)

2018-01-26 00:14:34 UTC

Maybe put this way...

If you wanted to learn to fight, would you:

-Join a MMA gym with multiple UFC fighters and world class coaches
or
-Ask one of the members of the gym to give you private lessons in your backyard every now an then?

2018-01-26 00:15:54 UTC

Certainly you could be trained, and with dedication you could be formidable. But it would never be the same, ya know?

2018-01-26 00:18:27 UTC

Fair enough. Understanding it would take more than occasional training if one was dedicated enough to teach for long periods of time could you reach the same end result? (Aside from combat experience) don't get me wrong were these different times I'd be the first to enlist. ( in fact it bothers me very deeply to see us moving more in this direction, I planned to enlist for most of my life)

2018-01-26 00:19:06 UTC

In the end I felt I could do more to solve the problems we're facing on the home front

2018-01-26 00:20:40 UTC

Not to say I don't have nothing but the greatest respect for those who have. Some of my best friends have served overseas and it was their stories of what they were forced to do that attributed the most to my decision not to enlist

2018-01-26 00:26:02 UTC

The .mil has 100's of millions in training budgets, weaponry, bases etc.

See my above analogy.

No way you could be equally proficient to someone who was trained by verified experts, with massive logistical support, and done so on a full time basis.

2018-01-26 00:31:05 UTC

Understandable. One day perhaps it won't be an issue

2018-01-26 00:31:16 UTC

Then again that's why we do what we do

2018-01-26 00:35:10 UTC

👍🏼

@here

I'm starting to up my cardio here on the backside of winter.(gotta have the abs by spring) ;)

For non running cardio, I have been doing light kettlebell swings, and lighly weighted jump squats.

Any advice for winter fat burning?

2018-01-26 01:00:13 UTC

Fasted HIIT Cardio

2018-01-26 01:07:11 UTC

@everyone can you recommend high quality fighting gloves? I'd like to gift my husband some and Amazons' selection is not looking too hot. He does MMA & Kyokoshin karate

2018-01-26 01:09:42 UTC

@Volkmom Fairtex or Twins Special

2018-01-26 01:10:39 UTC

@Tyler0317 nothin like bag work and sparring brother

2018-01-26 01:11:34 UTC

@Volkmom Gloves for hitting the bag, or for MMA?

2018-01-26 01:12:23 UTC

@Deleted User the TN sparring group is having our first meetup this Saturday. 😉

2018-01-26 01:13:22 UTC

Nice! Do vids if you guys are comfortable with it!

2018-01-26 01:14:59 UTC

@Tyler0317 I second what @Deleted User said. I lift and run every weekday morning on an empty stomach and it does help lean you up

2018-01-26 01:16:42 UTC

Ive never done fasted training consistantly, I'm up for the experiment.@Zyzz @Deleted User

2018-01-26 01:17:46 UTC

Its helping me trim my winter weight. Bikini body season is coming up

2018-01-26 01:18:01 UTC

Does the weight stay off after you eat?

2018-01-26 01:21:19 UTC

@Tyler0317 mainly for the bag

2018-01-26 01:21:36 UTC

He doesn't want much padding

2018-01-26 01:24:52 UTC

@Tyler0317 btw winter fat burning, try a sauna?

2018-01-26 01:25:31 UTC

Very trad

2018-01-26 01:25:35 UTC

Wrist wraps brace your fist into proper alignment with your forearm, and help prevent injury and hand soreness.

2018-01-26 01:26:56 UTC

Hmm ok ty. I think maybe something in between wraps and boxing gloves, checking out the fairtex now

2018-01-26 01:27:20 UTC

Wraps are used in conjunction with gloves.

2018-01-26 01:28:55 UTC

Oh I see

2018-01-26 01:28:59 UTC
2018-01-26 01:31:00 UTC

Buuuut, they are 4 ounces, and have exposed fingers(for grappling)....

This makes them less useful for hitting the heavy bag, or sparring with your buddies. Because no one wants to practice with the guy with small gloves(it's hurts more to be hit).

2018-01-26 01:32:10 UTC

Lol. Ty

2018-01-26 01:32:52 UTC

Having a few pair eventually would be ideal for unique purposes...

2018-01-26 03:01:53 UTC
