This book actually shook me to my core
It's a memoir of a German soldier on the eastern front. He was a member of the elite Großdeutschland. I've read and studied a lot of books over the years but this guys story actually gave me pause and really shook me up
I can't begin to recommend it to everyone it WILL change you
Just added it to my cart. Thanks for the recommendation! @Mark Vandal
@CarletonJ seriously dude. This book actually gave me chills as times. I've read a lot of books and none did that like this one. It's a thick decent read but it's a roller coaster ride to say the least
You seem really passionate about this book. I think it will be a wonderful addition to my collection. I love books like these.
Not trying to toot my own horn but my collection is decent and this book is the one i always recommend to people out of it. 1 of 5 I do anyways
Please do toot your own horn (I don't think I've ever said this before lmao), I always brag about my book collection. My dream is to have my walls covered with great and rare literature.
Ever since I was a kid I wanted a study. Big wood table nice chair and walls lined with books. Only I'm allowed in. "That's dads study don't go in there"
YES
We have similar dreams, friend.
This book was surprisingly neutral. And the end he has FRENCH testimonies about the actions of the 2nd SS and their "atrocities " that vindicate them
