from what I've heard

2021-01-21 17:57:49 UTC

it's not made to be "user friendly" exactly

2021-01-21 18:14:54 UTC

yea i stick to google chrome for now. used to trust without a concern opera untill i learned it was sold and the chinese that purchased it sold all the users data. then i just got chrome and i dont care what google does with my data. big corps will track you if they truly want it one way or the other. we use MS windows for gods sake. the inventors of stealing data lol

Tor is top if you have VPN.

2021-01-21 18:35:31 UTC

Some of us use linux

2021-01-21 18:37:19 UTC

I have chrome installed on my Linux boxes, but I solely for the occasional streaming service that uses DRM. Also in the past to use Flash before that was discontinued at the end of 2020.

2021-01-21 18:37:39 UTC

I use chrome just for streaming but the rest... Brave or firefox

2021-01-21 18:38:10 UTC

Tor is only when you get VPN.

2021-01-21 18:38:36 UTC

Firefox is my go-to browser

2021-01-21 18:39:17 UTC

What VPN do you use? I use ProtonVPN

2021-01-21 18:46:08 UTC

we call that telemetry it's less damning

2021-01-21 18:47:55 UTC

I don't use a VPN right now as I'm searching one like maybe NORDVPN and I'm studying for certifications

2021-01-21 18:49:50 UTC

All I know is my go-to browser is Brave and Firefox

2021-01-21 19:29:25 UTC

whyd you post this

2021-01-21 19:30:18 UTC

😎

2021-01-21 22:33:13 UTC

Well then just use Linux?!

2021-01-21 22:33:41 UTC

You don't need an extra vpn for tor. Just use the build in Layer.

2021-01-21 22:34:37 UTC

I use brave after that whole censorship stuff and statement from Firefox

2021-01-21 22:36:14 UTC

Using Nord it is actually pretty good. You can use TOR features without tor like using onion links ab being harder to track with the Onion VPN option built in.

2021-01-21 23:28:09 UTC

WTF kind of BS list puts firefox above TOR for privacy? TOR is literally firefox but reconfigured to MAXIMUM privacy! I would NOT trust that list.

2021-01-21 23:30:21 UTC

I guess it's due to using Tor makes you suspicious according to some

2021-01-21 23:30:45 UTC

And firefox is basically Brave kinda

2021-01-21 23:31:00 UTC

no... not at all

2021-01-21 23:31:38 UTC

In terms of privacy, yes, in terms of anything else no

2021-01-21 23:31:45 UTC

They are completely different browsers

2021-01-21 23:32:32 UTC

And neither brave nor firefox are that good for privacy, better than opera or chrome absolutely, but Pale Moon (Privacy firefox) Or ungoogled chromium (Privacy chrome) are far better

2021-01-21 23:32:39 UTC

but if you arent paranoid it doesnt really matter

2021-01-21 23:33:07 UTC

As long as you dont use opera because its literally owned by the chinese XD

2021-01-21 23:34:05 UTC

I heard lol. Thanks for the two browsers.

2021-01-21 23:38:05 UTC

np, ungoogled chromium can be a PITA to find sometimes, heres the link for it

2021-01-21 23:38:24 UTC

you'd want the Windows 64ibit installer

2021-01-22 02:45:42 UTC

Opera's data is still being handled through Norway, with EU laws. The Chinese corporation is not directly involved with their actual operations

2021-01-22 02:49:37 UTC

How am i supposed to trust that? its a chinese corporation, of course they would say that!

2021-01-22 02:51:00 UTC

In any case using a browser thats open source like ungoogled chromium or pale moon is a much better bet for privacy

2021-01-22 02:51:32 UTC

since people can actually vet the code

2021-01-22 02:51:56 UTC

Do you know if Pale Moon has support for regular Firefox extensions?

2021-01-22 02:52:11 UTC

I dunno, maybe legal filings within Norway and the EU

2021-01-22 02:52:28 UTC

Which specific extensions? It is based on pre-quantum firefox

2021-01-22 02:53:11 UTC

ooooo ok. NoScript, AdBlock/uOrigin mostly. They have pre-quantum versions out there I assume

2021-01-22 02:53:55 UTC

uBlock origin just go to their girthub releases and use firefox-legacy
