I guarantee if Eli put out a memo that we are trying to establish an elite group of fighters we would be flooded with applicants.
Its possible, I have zero pull with him, if you can make any progress on it keep us informed.
Haha... I have zero pull as well. If nothing else we can recruit within this group. The only thing I can offer IE is my military training. I'm 38 years old, I'm limited on what I can do.
@Brandon Ironside- ND , if nothing else you and I can set up a sniper division
I agree our young men should be trained in bushcraft skills, marksmenship, physically fit, etc and your military expierence is valuable with that, but for now I think most of that type of training is going to happen through voluneeters and setting up stuff on the local level, IE is under 2 years old and most of the funding is going toward building infastructure of the orginization and activism.
I will speak with my state coordinator. I know he has the ear of Eli...
I will be in touch with you

Can anyone recommend a good canteen/mess kit for a go bag?
I'd just check in any military surplus store
You're bound to find something good

@Deleted User What is you cooking setup going to be? alchohol stove, open flame, canister setup?
This is what I use unless its going to be below 0 degrees. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001UEL76Q/ref=asc_df_B001UEL76Q5198964/?tag=hyprod-20&creative=394997&creativeASIN=B001UEL76Q&linkCode=df0&hvadid=167119746601&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=5875188560344401524&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9060150&hvtargid=pla-84153121286
And I use a stainless steel nalagene for water https://store.nalgene.com/product-p/1778-1002.htm I have had camelbaks and USGI 1 quarts in the past, they are fine if you live in a warm enviornent but where i live , my water freezing is a common thing so i like to be able to melt it if that happens on my stove.
Jetboil ftw lads
^^^
At fort drum, my jetboil made the field bearable, love mine. If you run out of fuel, makes for a sad camper though.
Anyone try palladium boots? I know they're pretty urbanized but I've heard some good things
@Uilliam I wish I knew more about boots think I'm going to get new pair soon and am looking at Danner boots, heard good things about them
Nalgenes are on point
Salomon makes a great hiking boot got me threw a crap ton of miles in the white mountains. And that hiking is rugged.
@Admiral Tolwyn - NH#5491 Bro. White Mountains are no joke right? They turned me back twice in the middle of May because of ice storms
@Brandon Ironside- ND @Mark Vandal Hey lads was just scrolling back through your lessons and wanted to tell you again how impressed I am. The community thanks you.
Sure thing man. Been slacking lately, but I'll try to post some more stuff soon
π I wasn't being passive aggressive I swear lol
@Deleted User Thanks, I'll be posting another one tonight, I know you like your old school gear so this one will be a treat π
I'm taking it way way back
haha i look forward to it
Ha! You weren't kidding @Brandon Ironside- ND
@Deleted User No i wasn't haha. I have been fasicinated with Otzi since i first heard about him. How he died is extremely interesting too. Makes me ponder how much I would really need to survive with, also spurred my interest in making primitve tools. Have you seen the youtube channel "primitive technology" guy has 6 million subscribers here's one you would love being a Celt. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BN-34JfUrHY
I love that channel.
You may like this guy. He was required reading when I was a freshman.
Yep haha I read his book back in the day I think it was called Pathfinder, good read.
Is that a beech sapling he's using for the handle?
At about the 3 min mark I'd worry the area around the head would splinter
Ah!
He says "Don't let the sides of the head touch the sides of the hole or it will split." Smart!
And to put it between two knots
