Remember that the most important part of self-improvement is to take a moment everyday to ask yourself "is what I am doing good for Israel?"

keep in mind procrastination can be a sign that you're on the wrong path

2018-10-16 05:56:53 UTC

but these are some good tools

2018-10-16 06:05:55 UTC

@BWMiller thx bro

Personally I find the dash method the most effective, but the problem with it is if you don't have the option to stop after 5 minutes (i.e have a paper due tomorrow morning) it can backfire or become less effective. That's the one where you only commit to doing something for 5 minutes, but the catch is if it still feels dreadful you stop. However in most cases the hardest part is to get started, and forcing yourself to do 5 minutes often lessens the anxiety.

Pomodoro technique is also very good. That's what the app is for. You're always within half an hour of a refreshing break, so it doesn't feel so overwhelming, and in my experience you often get more done in the same amount of time than if you tried to work non-stop.

The trick is to find something light and relaxing you can do in that time, and not something that will suck you in or take away energy.

Finally, I like to listen to neoclassical stuff when I'm trying to focus. Movie scores and game soundtracks, etc. Find an internet station or playlist. There are no distracting lyrics, and game scores are literally meant to make grinding easier

@EsotericBaldNibbaisms You should learn IT, it doesn't require anything other than heightened ADD and being a scatter-brained autist.

Anybody here have a home gym? Trying to buy a squat rack + bench online but every option <$200 looks like crap. Is there anything solid for around that price or do I have to shell out big $$$$?

2018-10-17 01:35:29 UTC

I spent almost 1k on mine

2018-10-17 02:10:41 UTC

damn

2018-10-17 02:11:22 UTC

I was hoping to keep everything (rack, bench, weights) under $500 if possible

2018-10-17 02:11:54 UTC

kettlebells are relatively very cheap but not quite as good for maxxing

2018-10-17 02:12:26 UTC
