Some bishops are good, some are worse

Asked around, apparently the objection was on grounds of hygiene, that tampons are unhygenic compared to cotton pads, the American bishops initially objected too but it was only by the 1970s that doctors decided to admit there was an epidemic of especially young women getting lethal or at least severe infections due to the material being used being friendly to a paricular bacteria

Ok so it was from a hygienic point of view which makes perfect sense, my bad. I was argumenting on the basis of the Church's teaching and the Scriptures.

There was an objection to unmarried women using them as it might damagae the hymen

But that's the only theological argument presented really

Yeah but the bishops were absolutely right when it comes to health, tampons are still a major cause of toxic shock syndrom
