Languages come and go but breaking down problems into simple algorithms is the most important skill
There quite a few high level programming classes that don't involve programming literal code
I havenβt done any real coding in 6 years, I can still read it so I get by
@brownin `If youβre actually using it for coding, is 8GB enough?`
definitely
IDEs don't take that much ram
..as hard as they might be trying..
well i did point out they're trying
Atom is rape, but i really like it
it not only eats RAM but it cause windowing glitches with other programs running OpenGL
i use its Teletype feature for coding on garbage kitchen computer but saving to my main PC
@Tero when I was at uni I would never only have a code editor open, I would also have unity or UDK, photoshop, numerous chrome tabs plus I would then be running the code to test. All this together easily eats more than 8GB
well that's not just actually using it for coding
IDE is maybe a few hundred meg if it's bloated af out of all that other stuff
Well would you only code on the laptop then transfer it to another machine to do the rest? π
I suppose I am talking about making a map and not just a small program

fucking mongs
Well it wouldnt be mancity as they have no fans
imagine not using a password manager
my password manager automatically picks at random from the list of most-common passwords so i always get easy to remember ones π

Talking about chip design
kek
fuck java. that evil assturd
java powers parking meters tho
I'd disgusting how much critical embedded hardware runs Java
The HVAC system at my old work ran on Java
"error out the parking meters, to own the java haters"
how do you know it ran on java tho
did you hack it or something?
i only know java powers parking meters, because it said so π
@What Would Jack Conte Do? As the IT support there, I had to troubleshoot connection issues to the fucking thing.
Embedded Java does not have a flexible network stack
There was a lot of issues with IP conflicts
ah
