Well I mean...sure

2019-04-05 19:41:02 UTC

even then I dont think the 50 would do it

2019-04-05 19:41:11 UTC

I think those are designed to take .50 ?

2019-04-05 19:41:35 UTC

The armored bank trucks? Na

2019-04-05 19:41:46 UTC

yea, armored bank trucks

2019-04-05 19:42:02 UTC

I think there designed for 30-06 AP at point blank at most

2019-04-05 19:42:42 UTC

There windshield and windows certainly isnt thick enough to stop a .50

2019-04-05 19:42:48 UTC

I would think

2019-04-05 19:42:53 UTC

right

2019-04-05 19:44:33 UTC

I dont remember the armor level ratings...But typically the highest unless your the fucking president only guarantees protection from .308/ 7.62 NATO, or 30-06 AP...though most civilian armored cars are only built to handle 5.56/7.62×39

2019-04-05 19:46:04 UTC

The armored bank cars most definitely can handle a .308/7.62 NATO tho

2019-04-05 20:01:29 UTC

are the mka-1919 type shotguns any good? the turkish ones

2019-04-05 21:16:20 UTC

@Duke of Mecklenburg I shut down the conversation because the 416 will reach something like 2700 yards? He is worried more about heavy machine guns then he is long range sniper rounds

2019-04-05 21:17:23 UTC

That's not what were talking about

2019-04-05 21:17:26 UTC

At all

2019-04-05 21:17:45 UTC

Were talking about Long range shooting specifically

2019-04-05 21:17:57 UTC

@nutsnax everyone has their own preference.

2019-04-05 21:18:28 UTC

I scrolled up to earlier in the conversation

2019-04-05 21:18:40 UTC

Should have clarified

2019-04-05 21:24:17 UTC

Further than 2,700

2019-04-06 02:47:14 UTC

20mm anti material rifle ftw

2019-04-06 03:02:18 UTC

@Duke of Mecklenburg they might suck for long range shooting, but that doesn't make those wildcats a superior all around cartridges. Namely because there aren't similar loads like the Mk. 211 Raufoss or the SLAP. You could compare Lapua .338 against those as they are all meant for exactly the same purpose, unlike a multipurpose cartridge like the BMG.
What gave you the idea militaries choose the best option? It's always the cheapest option, very few militaries are in the spot where they have unlimited budget.

2019-04-06 03:05:42 UTC

.416 isnt a wildcat

2019-04-06 03:05:47 UTC

I guess I'm a retard for seeing that you can't compare an all around cartridge against a sniper cartridge. Comparing .50 BMG and .338 Lapua is equally retarded as comparing 9x19 to 9x39.

2019-04-06 03:05:52 UTC

.416 can do anything a 50 could

2019-04-06 03:05:55 UTC

Nearly

2019-04-06 03:06:00 UTC

sure it can

2019-04-06 03:06:02 UTC

Including better penetration

2019-04-06 03:06:07 UTC

but it's not superiour

2019-04-06 03:06:25 UTC

But it is

2019-04-06 03:06:33 UTC

As a long range cartridge

2019-04-06 03:06:41 UTC

Which was the whole point

2019-04-06 03:06:44 UTC

they are not comparable, it's not usable in a machine gun

2019-04-06 03:06:55 UTC

That was never an argument

2019-04-06 03:06:57 UTC

At all

2019-04-06 03:07:03 UTC

no, the whole point for the original argument was that a katana was better than toilet paper

2019-04-06 03:07:22 UTC

well that's what started this, a clear comparison with two unrelated things

2019-04-06 03:07:23 UTC

That had nothing to do with anything I ever talked about

2019-04-06 03:07:33 UTC

then maybe you shouldn't have replied to me

2019-04-06 03:07:49 UTC

I'm still right tho
