Question: We know that ancestral memories are passed down through our DNA, we quite literally have our ancestors with us... but does anybody know how far back the memories go?
Very far. Perhaps before the invention of fire.
@Max Bianco - NY It's a theory called epigenetics.
Wait no, is that right?
Yeah, it is. part of that field of study anyhow
"epigenetic memory" or "epigenetic conditioning" is what @The Eternal Anglo is referring to.

@Max Bianco - NY Scientists hypothesize it's the reason we have natural fears, to dangers in the enviornments our ancestors lived in. Not just for humans, but for animals in general
@The Eternal Anglo very interesting
@Deleted User We could also call in "Genetic memory"
Another term for it, coined in 1978 by Wilder Penfield, is "Racial Memory"
Hence we know how to feed from our parent as a baby, why giant tigers and bears are dangerous creatures, etc. In my opinion, I think this is why we have a natural inclination to have a liking for certain aesthetics and cultures. Certain birds know how to exactly make certain nests with certain materials, and I don't think humans are too far off from the same thought process, either.
Seems very similar to "instinct", just a cooler name for it.
Instinct is hardcoded into our DNA though. How? Why?
Epigenetics.
Why do I spell terribly by adding too many letters into things? German genes...
Trying to combine two or more existing words into a new one? Adding unnecessary dots over vowels? Germanic Epigenetics.
Toätæly
hah!
The æ should be incorporated into the english language just to make fun of the college kid accent
Ya know how barbies will always end a sentence with “aaaaee”
