animals are sentient, fetuses aren't

Sentient in they feel pain. Only a handful are any further sentient than basic instinct and pain. Fetuses can feel pain, and many of said vegans have no trimester restriction. I would argue fetus can achieve the same if not more Sentients than most animals.

The issue is people conflate sentience and conciousness. 2 very different things. Yes all farm animals have sentience (ability to perceive the world around them, react and feel pain) but they dont have conciousness (higher brain function, forethought of death, or ability to put feeling over instinct)

A fetus can feel pain and show reaction to the environment by 20 weeks. The equivilant of a chicken. The only literal differences are the chicken is separate from the womb, and we eat the chicken.

By later term it has developed past most farm animals.

But even so. Saying one is "murder" and everyone should be forced to not eat meat, but the other isnt, is a huge contradiction.
