good question. a company union can work in some cases but it will not help getting you more money if the employer dont have any money to spare
There is a union trying to recruit my companies employees. And some are dumb enough to want it. Not realizing we are paid more and have better benefits than the mills in the area that are unionized.

And if we do unionize we lose most of our benefits like bonused
The only thing the union is offering really that we dont have (offering in the way of negotiating for) is a pension. But we would get a worse health plan, lose bonuses (including to our 401k), probably lose pay, and a few other things.

Granted most of those wanting unionization are peeps ready to retire. Not realizing they wouldnt get really much of a pension.
Im in a union but they are upfront of the part that you are responsible to secure your pension yourself
