It's a short version of "being a man, and wanting to fuck another man dressed as a woman, knowing it's actually a man, is that gay?"

The reason TB probably called it transphobic was because of the sheer number of people who seem to conflate traps with transgender people, so the joke could have and probably did make a lot of people uncomfortable

People who fit the trap description don't call themselves traps, because it's almost universally seen as a demeaning term
