Wait...
This was mentioned on the 6th
TYT went full conspiracy theory? They be stealing from Alex Jones!
THEY'RE TRYING TO TURN THE FROGS STRAIGHT!
Also, in this video, Joerg talks about how Youtube finally admitted they do hidden demonetization.
Oy vey
He also talks about why PornHub's business model doesn't work for non-porn.
PornHub makes money from showing small clips and trying to sell full videos.
They don't make money from ads.
well, they can change
but, i guess this kind of thing can only be super profitable, if they sell subscriptions
just throwing this out there, but would something like subscribing to a channel for a penny a month work? 1000000 subscribers is $10000 a month. obviously it wouldn't work for everyone, especially channels that have younger viewers.
yeah
i honestly think that's the best way to do it
pornhub can do that
they don't need much, a USD per month would be enough
it wouldn't have to be hosted on pornhub
yeah
Makes you think
Look
youtube is leaving a gap
that someone with a smart head can take
did you purposefully avoid using the word "fill"?
There are definitely problems with the subscription thing though
like you would have to subscribe to every video someone linked
>did you purposefully avoid using the word "fill"?
What do you mean ?
"youtube is leaving a gap that someone with a smart head can fill" within the context of pornhub I found that kinda funny
Ah
lol
I think Youtube found a gold mine from Twitch's half arsed system.
On Twitch, you can subscribe to give a fixed amount of money every month, to the "creator".
But for donations, for the longest time, people had to use a 3rd party service. Then Twitch tried to eat that lunch too, with bits, which everyone hated. But the idea was, you can then send extra money to the creator, with a message; and creators figured out, they could pander to the audience by making sure to read all donation messages.
Then Youtube came up with "superchat"; thus allowing attention whores to spend vasts amount of money to talk to the creators.
I think that's indeed the way to move forward, for video content. You'll need the ability to stream live, and a way to process payments, for whatever content it is.
Problem is, most payment processing services don't allow adult content.
You'd need somebody with weight, like Google or Amazon, to coerce them to allow it. Or at least to obscure the usage of the money.
You put some money into the Google wallet, or Amazon account, and the payment service doesn't see it's being used for "bad things."
