"To most Americans, the subtlety of Arab culture is bewildering and incomprehensible." I've had a hunch that a study of Arab and middle eastern cultures is one of the greatest sociological endeavors one could make, alongside something like a study of Egypt.
Make's me wish our sociology departments spent their time studying it more, rather than all their bullshit. To do so seems so important to maintaining America's position as a global hegemon.

In Cuba, students have to spend a few years doing forced, unpaid labor in government farms and factories. No wonder the government makes sure every kid stays in school. Everyone is literate, and a slave.
