One of my happiest memories of my young adult life in my town

2018-10-18 19:03:29 UTC

@Bjorn - MD I don't think my southern European side is necessarily loud or anything, I'd moreso describe it as more realistic and doesn't take shit, unlike my other, more >polite ancestry

2018-10-18 19:04:26 UTC

I think there's a genuine racial/metaphysical differerence between the north and the south of Europe

2018-10-18 19:04:42 UTC

>viewing yourself as a collection of "genes" and not a manifestation of spirit

2018-10-18 19:04:43 UTC

@Deleted User and I are very funny to be around at the same time for this reason

2018-10-18 19:04:55 UTC

He's a very level headed stoic Nordic type

2018-10-18 19:05:06 UTC

And then I'm well, a Med

2018-10-18 19:05:10 UTC

And the opposite

2018-10-18 19:05:53 UTC

And it's cool because you can see the same differences shown in religion too the way paganism was different north to south and how that transferred into Christianity as well

2018-10-18 19:06:43 UTC

Chris is very outgoing

2018-10-18 19:06:49 UTC

and I'm very...not

2018-10-18 19:06:52 UTC

The norths perception of Christ was a very endearing and stoic view of a suffering man who was tortured and suffering for us

Meanwhile Christ in Med art has a six pack and is sitting on the Cross like an absolute Chad

2018-10-18 19:08:11 UTC

eh, idk, that characterization seems at odds with Nordic mythos to me

2018-10-18 19:08:19 UTC

they didn't exactly worship the meek

2018-10-18 19:08:34 UTC

Not exactly what I'm saying

2018-10-18 19:09:01 UTC

But there is a natural order and quiet virtue to the northern European spirit

2018-10-18 19:09:13 UTC

I'd agree with that

2018-10-18 19:09:17 UTC

Suffer in silence.

2018-10-18 19:09:21 UTC

Its more grounded

2018-10-18 19:09:23 UTC

Exactly

2018-10-18 19:09:30 UTC

Good way to put it

2018-10-18 19:09:32 UTC

suffer in silence is the anglo motto

2018-10-18 19:10:17 UTC

"Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way" 😉

2018-10-18 19:10:22 UTC

Lots of emphasis on humility in Nordic culture

2018-10-18 19:10:49 UTC

From what I've seen lately, they are also into social shaming.

2018-10-18 19:11:14 UTC

Which is bad right now since the "socially acceptable" thinking is open borders and let brown people destroy their country.

2018-10-18 19:11:21 UTC

der erwige swede, Norway, Denmark, and Finland are fine, pro dialogue

2018-10-18 19:11:38 UTC

Theres a good stand up joke about meds and I can’t remember it perfectly but it essentially was like an old Italian guy will always say something like this “well my wife’s always nagging me my daughter married a loser my son is a disgrace my knees hurt my job sucks but hey, I can’t complain” 😂 it's pretty Damn accurate

2018-10-18 19:12:00 UTC

You see that in hospitals, Italians (and to a greater level, mestizos) report much greater levels of pain, complain more, display pain and grief differently.

2018-10-18 19:12:17 UTC

Not so with Central and Northern Europeans.

2018-10-18 19:12:31 UTC

gingers are most pain tolerant, interestingly

2018-10-18 19:12:52 UTC

I don't think it's coincidence that these countries famous for quiet and stoic personalities also happen to be the heartland of protestantism

2018-10-18 19:13:47 UTC

Lutheranism in particular

2018-10-18 19:14:06 UTC

Absolutely

2018-10-18 19:15:18 UTC

Broads have told me I'm "the strong silent type" maybe cause I'm nord
Or maybe its the autism

2018-10-18 19:15:54 UTC

I've always given off the "mysterious" vibe apparantly

2018-10-18 19:16:14 UTC

I don't talk much so I get it

2018-10-18 19:20:04 UTC

Whenever I see petersweden tweet, for a split second I think it’s @Deleted User

Someone may have already mentioned this, but Patrick got quite a bit of attention on FTN midweek @here

2018-10-18 19:53:56 UTC

so flyering and stickering in the rain probably doesn't work, huh?
