Ah sure, hit me up later if you want to talk. I could be wrong but a LOT of people might be talking about separate things when they talk about this topic.

It has many sides in it and people usually assume everyone is talking about the same one.

2018-05-17 13:14:14 UTC

but sometimes it is

2018-05-17 13:14:16 UTC

just sayin

2018-05-17 13:14:27 UTC

It never is

2018-05-17 13:14:29 UTC

especially nowadays

2018-05-17 13:14:37 UTC

@Thomas the Sowell Train [USA] Fairly certain that would be a false diagnosis of dysmoprhia

2018-05-17 13:15:21 UTC

being a transvestite doesnt mean you have gender dysphoria

2018-05-17 13:15:36 UTC

Gender dysphoria is not a choice, it's a condition

2018-05-17 13:16:42 UTC

"Gender dysphoria, or gender identity disorder, is the distress a person experiences as a result of the sex and gender they were assigned at birth."

Once you choose to "be" the opposite gender, and begin to experience displeasure because of your actual gender, you have self-inflicted your dysphoria.

2018-05-17 13:17:21 UTC

Congratulations, you found an article arguing one side of a highly controversial topic.

2018-05-17 13:17:33 UTC

@EmptyE I’m back for a quick sec, but yes, I also agree with both you and @Jek Porkins, my reasoning is for when it is obvious they are not the biological gender they say. I had a coworker once who had transitioned from female to male before I met him, had no fucking idea until he told me.

2018-05-17 13:18:04 UTC

I'd say theres a massive seperation between displeasure from a choice, and psychology distress that would need treatment @Thomas the Sowell Train [USA]

2018-05-17 13:18:42 UTC

its not controversial

2018-05-17 13:19:08 UTC

do you not see how treating trans people as if they have a mental disorder can cause mental disorders in them?

2018-05-17 13:19:12 UTC

Whose?

2018-05-17 13:19:33 UTC

Sure, there's a difference between someone who has transtrendered, and someone who is say, chemically imbalanced.

2018-05-17 13:19:34 UTC

Nope

2018-05-17 13:19:35 UTC

Request

2018-05-17 13:19:41 UTC

very different

2018-05-17 13:20:32 UTC

@Deleted User treating a mental disorder as a mental disorder produces better results than pretending nothing is wrong

2018-05-17 13:20:33 UTC

Yeah alright. But if you just want to make "what should the law be" arguments, well- that sounds really fucking dull

2018-05-17 13:21:54 UTC

I'd probably look confused but then say 'alright, guess so' in that instance

2018-05-17 13:22:27 UTC

why do the fuck do you keep dragging it to demands?

2018-05-17 13:22:46 UTC

they do not choose their gender

2018-05-17 13:22:57 UTC

lol

2018-05-17 13:23:05 UTC

@Deleted User Correct, their chromosomes determine that.

2018-05-17 13:24:15 UTC

there are biological, internal differences

2018-05-17 13:25:09 UTC

we aren't just what you see on the outside

2018-05-17 13:25:43 UTC

biological differences between a cis and trans?

2018-05-17 13:26:05 UTC

no usually that's just part of the delusion, and when it is the case it's probably not what you think it is

2018-05-17 13:26:56 UTC

if you put a female brain in a male body, are they then male?

2018-05-17 13:27:23 UTC

@M4Gunner its my job to worry (think really) about them

2018-05-17 13:27:26 UTC

no they're a mutant

2018-05-17 13:28:10 UTC

I'm a ToM Cog studies grad

2018-05-17 13:29:07 UTC

Same

2018-05-17 13:29:11 UTC

what I'm saying is there are physiological differences that cause them to identify as a different sex

2018-05-17 13:29:17 UTC

not true

2018-05-17 13:29:29 UTC

yes it is fucking true
