So in essence M4 you are mostly just worried about the medical implications to people who might be impressionable and not mentally stable?
@meratrix why should they disclose that to you for social decorum goods?
am I one of the idiots?
@EmptyE Because how will I know what to call them then. If they want me to oblige them, then they better make it known. And almost certainly they will be a close friend or something similar for them too feel comfortable telling me they’re trans in the first place.
@M4Gunner
Well you are in the internet, people you dislike and do not want to talk with do not leave just because you want them to. It is a shared forum, and we all are on different levels of understanding on the topic.
@EmptyE I can’t go around in circles with you all day, I got other shit to do. See ya, you are much more enjoyable to chat with than Hooty.
@Deleted User This is a really great mini doc on gender and sexuality studies https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p5LRdW8xw70
I think if someone LOOKS a certain way, and you address them according to how they present themselves and instead of just letting you know it's not what they are, they verbally accost you and call you transphobic then they can go fuck themselves.
@M4Gunner Presuppose? Fuck you mate. I put alot of damn effort in being as value neutral as possible
Being transgender is not a choice. Transgender people don't choose to cross over and live as the other gender. They are, and always have been, the other gender.
@Jek Porkins agreed.
Ah sure, hit me up later if you want to talk. I could be wrong but a LOT of people might be talking about separate things when they talk about this topic.
It has many sides in it and people usually assume everyone is talking about the same one.
but sometimes it is
just sayin
It never is
especially nowadays
@Thomas the Sowell Train [USA] Fairly certain that would be a false diagnosis of dysmoprhia
Gender dysphoria is not a choice, it's a condition
"Gender dysphoria, or gender identity disorder, is the distress a person experiences as a result of the sex and gender they were assigned at birth."
Once you choose to "be" the opposite gender, and begin to experience displeasure because of your actual gender, you have self-inflicted your dysphoria.
Congratulations, you found an article arguing one side of a highly controversial topic.
@EmptyE I’m back for a quick sec, but yes, I also agree with both you and @Jek Porkins, my reasoning is for when it is obvious they are not the biological gender they say. I had a coworker once who had transitioned from female to male before I met him, had no fucking idea until he told me.
I'd say theres a massive seperation between displeasure from a choice, and psychology distress that would need treatment @Thomas the Sowell Train [USA]
its not controversial
do you not see how treating trans people as if they have a mental disorder can cause mental disorders in them?
Whose?
Sure, there's a difference between someone who has transtrendered, and someone who is say, chemically imbalanced.
Nope
Request
very different
@Deleted User treating a mental disorder as a mental disorder produces better results than pretending nothing is wrong
Yeah alright. But if you just want to make "what should the law be" arguments, well- that sounds really fucking dull
I'd probably look confused but then say 'alright, guess so' in that instance
why do the fuck do you keep dragging it to demands?
they do not choose their gender
lol
