springfield m1 garand

2018-06-02 04:49:02 UTC

no, no one loves one of the best rifles ever made

2018-06-02 04:49:10 UTC

its decent

2018-06-02 04:49:42 UTC

I just bought one a month ago. It will literally set off a car alarm if im too close to a car when i shoot it. Its fun.

"In my opinion, the M1 rifle is the greatest battle implement ever devised" - Patton

Problem with M1 is the weight of the ammo. Too much bulk to carry around for the troops.

2018-06-02 04:51:24 UTC

One fully loaded clip has some heft to it.

2018-06-02 04:51:43 UTC

I bought a 1000 round case of 308 and its fucking heavy

2018-06-02 04:52:42 UTC

a 1000 rounds of 223 is not nearly as heavy

2018-06-02 04:52:46 UTC

the garand clip is probably most of the extra weight

2018-06-02 04:52:55 UTC

no the real reason is the M1 has a low fire density compared to a lower caliber, lower recoil weapon

2018-06-02 04:53:17 UTC

the quick fix was the M14 but that also sucked at modern combat

2018-06-02 04:54:26 UTC

the AKM was the best infantry weapon of the war hands down

2018-06-02 04:55:13 UTC

the overwhelming majority of the ground war was firefights within 200 meters behind heavy cover, perfect for a 7.62x39 rifle

2018-06-02 04:56:26 UTC

The AKM is great in terms of reliability and cost to produce. But I wouldn't call it the best infantry weapon simply because its the most commonly used. The platform does have problems

Any video of Portland up yet that doesn't sound like hot ass?

2018-06-02 04:57:35 UTC

Also in 2018: AR > AK

2018-06-02 04:57:45 UTC
