Crowder's build the wall video is only 13 minutes long; did they get ganked or something?

@radeon sessions is using a law meant to take children out of abusive situations to seperate ALL FAMILIES from their children

a tool for a job

2018-06-20 11:21:56 UTC

the US immigration system is a 50 year mess of red tape of contradicting (and somewhat racist) laws, executive orders, court decrees, and half of them actually conflict with or outright make each other laws illegal but don't repeal them.
it takes an average of 12-14 years to become a citizen, and trump's new policies have only fucked shit up worse.
about 95% of the I.C.E. budget goes to enforcement while 5% goes to paperwork and processing, so they regularly loose people, including children, and their system is clogged to fuck. They also have no internal system to check for abuse or corruption.
Oh and there are 4 immigration judges in all of texas pulling 24 hour shifts due to this lack of court funding, the lawers use cellphones and skype instead of actually coming in person.

Jeff Sessions has decided to use an obscure law that justifies separating children from their parents if the immigrants are in bad condition or the parents are abusive, and has decided to separate ALL families regardless of status. As a way of discouraging immigration.

The illegal immigration rate actually went up.
What this has caused is overflowing prisions with 8 kids to a cell, and because the detention centers have run out of room, it's spilling over into child holding camps.

Sessions is going with the "Drug war" model of enforcement, which is working on immigrants just as well as it did on pot, while the president bitches that prision camps for kids aren't that pad.

and a fix for this mess was dropped on the president's desk back in 2017. With both parties coming to an agreement to solve the crisis. The president promised to pass it.
then he vetoed it because it didn't include 40 billion for his wall

2018-06-20 11:29:58 UTC

If Trump actually steps in and does something, what are the chances he gets any credit for it

2018-06-20 11:30:17 UTC

and what are the chances he rightfully blames clinton and obama for the mess

2018-06-20 11:43:14 UTC

@Charles Khan 1. he won't step in, not his style. it would mean admitting he was wrong.
2. It's not clinton or obama's fault either, they're just the most convient democrats within splash radius, this shitstorm stretches way back beyond regan.

The 1997 Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals already set this precedent. Blaming Trump for enforcing a law that's already on the books is just silly, just because previous Presidents may have been selective in *their* enforcement of it

@Reaps Sessions is abusing an abuse law and creating internment camps for children, expect all legal action to be taken by the people who oppose him.
and when it comes to children crammed into tent camps under armed guard, expect there to be a lot of opposition to that.

2018-06-20 11:55:10 UTC

no.

2018-06-20 11:55:20 UTC

I think he did owl

2018-06-20 11:56:17 UTC

if they choose to be deported, their children go with them. If they choose to apply for asylum, they inevitably stay in the country longer than 20 days, and their kids have to be removed as the law dictates

PC culture is destroying comedy

2018-06-20 11:59:23 UTC

You already wrote that; instead of copypasting your own words, provide a source or two for me to peruse

2018-06-20 12:00:08 UTC

I remember him saying some things about DACA that shocked his own party last year

2018-06-20 12:00:36 UTC

most comedians just talk about Trump now

2018-06-20 12:00:37 UTC

But trying to pass an immigration bill without funding for the wall with Trump as President is asinine

@NightOwl if they do that, they arenโ€™t comedians

2018-06-20 12:01:08 UTC

If it was merely a 'fix' that addressed this singular issue, I'd be for that, assuming it didn't wind up creating more problems than what is supposed to solve

I donโ€™t want TDS in my comedy
